What’s poppin in dramaville?

cp21.jpg Coffee Prince continued to dominate the Monday/Tuesday line-up. The surprise hug and kiss between Gong You and Yun Eun Hye definitely caught my attention. I wonder how they are going to let Han Gyul (Gong You) realize that Eun Chan (Yun Eun Hye) is in fact a woman. Can’t wait for it to air next week!

0718-times-of-wolves-and-dogs3.jpg Times of Dogs and Wolves had a slow start last week with less than 10% ratings, but it quickly picked up the ratings with its superb storyline and execution! Another Wednesday/Thursday drama How to meet the perfect neighbor, starring Bae Do Na and Kim Seung-woo is also gaining viewers’ interest, making the Wednesday/Thursday line-up battle even more dynamic.

0726-bad-couple.jpg Bad Couples ended last week with the ending we all wanted, but it was so unrealistic! They didn’t tie all the loose ends and it was like boom - the happy ending delivered on a sliver platter sort of deal. It ended with 14.9% Nielsen ratings or second place in the weekend line-up. Bad Couples will be replaced by Oh Ji Hos “comeback” drama Go get Karl, Oh Su Sung.

Please save Dang-Ja!

I was in tears as I watched Bad Couple over the weekend. When I started to watch this drama, I didn’t really expect much, but what a treat this turned out to be! Like I mentioned in my previous posts, I fell in love with all the characters and now, as I watch Dang Ja’s illness become the main plot, I can’t help but join all the other fans in pleading/ requesting/demanding to the writers & producer to save Dang Ja and her unborn child. Oh how great it would be if Dang Ja, Gi Chan and their child live happily ever after.

Btw, did you know that Shin Eun-Kyung lost her sight in one of her eyes while she was filming a movie My Wife is a Gangster four years ago?

Air City ends with a whimper

0710-air-city.jpg
The much anticipated drama, Air City ended with a whimper over the weekend with less than 10% Nielsen ratings. Ouch, but it wasn’t surprising at all. I personally gave up following this drama about three weeks ago when the storyline started to go downhill and it’s a shame because it actually had a lot of potential. They spent $6 million to produce the drama and they hired two mega stars, Lee Jung Jae and Choi Ji Woo, but the writers couldn’t make the story interesting at all. It got frustrating to expect more so I started to follow Air City’s competitor Bad Couple instead and what a treat that has been! It’s a total gem and I recommend it to those who love chick-flicks. It’ll make you tear, laugh and fall in love with the characters, especially Gi-chan.

Air City vs. Bad Couple

Despite my initial disappointment with Air City, I continued to follow the drama, in hopes that it’ll redeem itself, but chances of that are proving to be slim as Air City’s rival Bad Couple is gaining more lead in the tv rating game (Bad Couple: 11.8% vs. Air City: 10.8%). Bad Couple, starring Shin Eun Kyoung and Ryu Su Young is about a career woman wanting to become a “miss mom” or an unmarried woman that want to have a child without the hangups of marriage. To become a Miss Mom, Kim Dang Ja (Shing Eun Kyung) tries to seduce Choi Ki Chan (Ryu Su Young), a professor with the best genes and Ms. Kim’s ways of achieving her goals are very funny, enough to make you burst out laughing during the episodes. continue reading

Oops, Shin Eun-kyung falls in the water

Top star, Shin Eun-kyung falls in the water dragging her co-star and camera while filming the new SBS drama, “Bad couple” (trans: ‘불량커플’).

Poor girl, but look at her gorgeous shoes! Totally sexy! The shoes are from the Korean fashion brand, Mischa. I would love to get my grubby hands on a pair!

And what a waste of a digital SLR!!
