Dang, I couldn’t even recognize Ga-in in the picture. Did you?

Ga-in will be making her official debut as an actress through the movie, “My Love, By My Side“. In the movie, Ga-in worked alongside Ha Ji-won and Kim Myung-min, which worried her to be working with such big stars. In a recent interview, the singer stated,

“I don’t know if it’s because this is my first time acting but I’m worried and feel a lot of pressure. As a singer turned actress, I’m afraid that I will start controversy because of my acting skills. I play the role of a patient in the movie and filmed a lot of no-make up scenes and I’m worried a lot about this too. Actors Kim Myung-min and Ha Ji-won are considered some of the best of Korea when it comes to acting. I’m honored to be able to work with such people but on the other hand I’m very nervous that there will be a big difference in terms of skill that people would be able to catch in the film.“

I don’t know about Ha Ji-won, but I would definitely be nervous working with Kim Myung-min. That guy is just gifted, he is definitely one of the best actors of Korea. Can you believe the guy even lost over 50 pounds for his role in this movie? Talk about dedication to your craft.

“My Love, By My Side” will released in theatres this coming September 24th.

America came knocking on Ha Ji-won’s door but without permission.

A picture of the Hallyu star was used for an ad by a Chinese “Acupuncture” /massage parlor near Korea town in Los Angeles with the catchy slogan, “Beautiful Asian girls-we can relax you.”  The picture is not too bad, but it’s just too bad that she was chosen by a massage parlor.

Maybe next time Ha Ji-won will have better luck.

Ha SangBeg + Roy’s Spring/Summer 08 Collection based on the concept, “Dynamite” was shown at The Answer Club in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul on January 23^rd, 2008.

Bada, Choi Yeojin, Ha Jiwon Kong Hyojin, Choi Kanghee and party planner, Ji Miggy attended the show but all should have taken a cue from the runway for some fashion inspiration.

Bada. Finally, this is twice in a row where she looks decent. Feeling the pale pink lips and subtle makeup. If we had to nitpik, the baggy dress is a no.

Choi Yeo-jin looks like a bag lady with this hodge podge of colors and textures. But if you break down the outfit, there are some redeemables – leather jacket-yes. Snakeskin clutch- yes. Fur collar- no. chiffon top and blue skirt-no. Black stockings and platform patent leather shows-ok. But all together? hideous. If you are at a fashion show, you should look fashionable.

Ha Ji-won has the same problems as Choi Yeo-jin above – she needs to take off that ugly paisley print top/dress. But love love the snakeskin clutch and the leather jacket is sweet too.

Ji Miggy, party planner extraordinaire and budding designer, is usually well dressed but not feeling this outfit. Again, if you break the outfit down and just stick with 1 or 2 items, then the look would be more pulled together. Black rabbt vest and leopard print top might work if the boots were black instead of brown. The boots also clash with the black clutch bag (btw, which is cute and looks like the one at Wet Seal that was on sale).

Kong Hyo-jin is known for her quirky sense of fashion that borders on disaster and this tme is no different. She s wearng what looks like a dead sheepdog as a bag. The bag ruins the outfit. Also her jeans are too short? perhaps she is trying to let people know that her legs are really long that she can find a pair of pants that are the right length? Also, woman needs to slap on some makeup. She is missing eyebrows.

Choi Kang-hee. Although I don’t like bags as dresses, in this case, Ms. Choi takes the cake as the best dress among the bunch. Fortunately for her, there was no competition.

Same dress, same body but not the same face. Who pops it best, Lost star, Kim Yun-jin or sexy domestic actress Ha Ji-won?

Kim Yun-jin has a new movie out, Seven Days. The script was sold to a U.S. film company. Get ready for a remake. As for Ha Ji-won, the sexy star will have a cameo role in the upcoming movie Sex Zero 2, (색즉시공 시즌2) opening in theaters December 13, 2007. Now that sounds like a real interesting movie.

Same dress and similar style. Actually, there is an uncanny(?) resemblance between Kim So-yeon (left) and Ha Jiwon, (right) maybe the same plastic surgeon? But if we really need to nitpick, Ha Jiwon looks sweeter in temperament while Kim So-yeon looks like she could bite your head off with her scary eyes.

Ms. Kim wore this dress recently at the Pusan International Film Festival at the beginning of this month and Ms. Ha popped the same outfit in August 2007.

We would like to wish you all a Happy Chusuk! Chusuk is Korean Thanksgiving where families gather over a huge meal to talk about the good old times and to catch up. It’s also a time where you get to see celebs all dressed up in gorgeous hanboks to spread the Chusuk spirit. Did your favorite star dress up in hanbok to wish you a Happy Chusuk?

Korea’s top celebs all hopped on the plane and headed for the Tokyo dome to meet with their Japanese fans this week. The media referred to the 2007 Face in Japan as a “premium” event, but I think it’s just a gigantic “show and tell” without any focus other than to give 15,000 or so Japanese fans some face time with some of their favorite stars. Singers conquered the stage with their songs while actors tried to impress with random gigs.

Highkick gang. I had no idea that Highkick was popular in Japan. Check out Shinji’s expression when Suh Min Jung tries to dance. The singer turned actor is not impressed! Ha.

Lee Ji-hoon was the main model for the fashion show prior to the main event. He loves white, just like his best friend Kangta. But wearing parts of the Korean flag at a Japanese event was a no-no.

Jo Hyun Jae recited a poem in Japanese. Very romantic and sweet, just like his Love Letter days.

Actress, Ha Ji-won is in Tokyo for the “2007 FACE in Japan” for the Hallyu Expo.  She looks fabulous with her dark glossy locks, simple makeup, and perfectly tanned skin. Ms. Ji-won also manages to show off her killer curves in a simple form-fitting white dress.

She certainly represents the best of Korea! Why can’t more k-celebs take her cue and wear something stylishly classic like this?

Koreans, especially young netizens love to create new words to describe the latest trend. There are new word or catch phrase created every other week that I don’t even try to keep up, but observing the creation of new words used to describe beautiful bodies over couple of months has been somewhat entertaining, hence this post.

It started out with Korea’s obsession of S-Line or women’s curvy figure. Chopstick figured body was out and glamour was in. Every female celeb on TV tried to show off their S-Line and if they didn’t have it, they would even pose a certain way to look like they had it. Then, male celebs got on the “let’s show off our beautiful bodies” bandwagon and started to flash us with their perfect abs and the word M-Line was formed to describe their fine abs.

One line word per gender, not bad. But it started to get out of hand when BoA’s face was referred as the V-Line and singer Byul’s lower back as the U-Line.

What’s next? The I-line for your legs and E-line for your fingers? Seriously, somebody needs to put a break into this silly word formations. It’s not creative nor catchy. What’s worse is that nobody’s going to understand what the heck you are talking about when you say, “I love your V-line, can I have your number?” outside Korea.

Natural beauty Song Hye-Kyo and top actress Ha Jiwon are both wearing Ki-Seng (Korean Geisha) Hwang Jin-i’s extravagant han bok. The movie Hwang Jin-i, starring Song Hye-Gyo will open in theaters in June and drama Hwang Jin-i played by Ha Jiwon was a huge hit last year. Who pops it best?

The boots are a giveaway. Ha Ji-won will play an ass-kicking boxer in an upcoming film, “Miracle on 1st street“, which will open on the 15th. She looks fabulous in the evening wear and boxing combo featured in the February issue of the men’s mag, Esquire.
