The wait for model turned sexy actor, Kang Dong-won’s new movie, M is almost over. We, at POPSEOUL! have been waiting for this movie to come out since March! And now it’s finally here. The cast, including fashion misfit, Kong Hyojin and aspiring actress Lee Yeon-hee held a press conference at Megabox at COEX on October 16^th.

The story of M” is about a best-selling writer (Kang Dong-won in glasses), who, just before getting married to his fiancee (Kong Hyo-jin) who looks back to his long deceased first love (Lee Yeon-hee).

The movie “M” opens on October 25^th, 2007.

Stars wear boring neutrals at Dior

It’s really difficult being a celeb in Korea. Not only do you have to deal with frantic fans and unrealistic expectations of beauty, but you also have to work like a dog since dramas, movies and even recordings are administered under a really tight schedule. In order to survive this killer lifestyle, many stars take power naps whenever they have even a moment to spare. It can be while they are getting their hair done, traveling in the car, waiting to shoot their next scene, taking a class or even attending an award ceremony. Check out the celebs who were caught on camera while dozing off.

One attention deprived TA at Han Yang University asked Kang Dong Won for his signature on a blank test booklet at the end of the exam, scanned it and uploaded on various sites misleading a lot of people into thinking that Kang Dong Won passed the exam by just submitting his signature. On top of this, the TA bragged that he/she (gender unknown – but I wouldn’t be surprised either way) gave a “special” tutor session to the top actor – hinting that Kang Dong Won received some form of help before the exam. What a great way to bash a hard-working student!

Anyways, Kang Dong Won acted quickly to end these endless acquisitions and hateful rumors by writing his side of the story on his website. According to our hottie, he took the exam and he visited the TA before the exam to ask him some last minute questions. As you can see, one sad attention deprived TA wanted to get his/her 10 sec of fame by riding his students fame and look where it got him/her. No where!

Luckily Kang Dong Won already graduated from Han Yang University to get away from his obsessed fan disguised as a TA and enrolled at Sung Myung Graduate School. He’s currently taking a break here in the states before he starts his move M promotion in the near future.

If you’ve been wondering where hottie Kang Dong Won has been past couple of months, he was in Saipan filming his latest movie M. I missed the hype around this movie but many critics are raving about it. The movie is about best-seller author Minwoo (Kang Dong Won) who he meets MiMi while he struggles to forget about his first love. MiMi (Lee Yun-hee) becomes Minwoo’s mistress and Eun Hae (Kong Hyo-Jin), Minwoo’s fiance gets anxious as Minwoo starts to act strange. Sounds like a typical Korean mellow drama?

Yeah, sort of except that these three characters travel through time and between reality and fantasy-land. So, it’s more like Twilight Zone spiced with Korean romance. I’m not so crazy about the storyline as much as seeing Kang Dong Won on the big screen. Who else is psyched about this movie?

This hottie is Kang Dong-Won. He was a professional model before he started his acting career in 2003 with Lady of Dignity. Since then, he stared in 3 dramas and 5 movies and my personal favorite is Our Happy Times, which is about a romantic relationship between a suicidal woman (Lee Na Young) and a death row prisoner (Kang Dong-Won).
