Instyle Magazine Korea held their 5^th Anniversary Party at the new Slow Walk cafe at Cheongdam-dong on March 6^th, 2008. Only the very stylish were allowed to attend…so that discounts about 95% of the Korean starlets…

Lee Hye-young. Taking inspiration by Gucci’s latest Spring print ad where the model wears black and patent pink heels, Ms Lee dons on a short tassle dress and candy pink heels. Cute!

Cha hye-ryeon. I guess she is “stylish” because she is a model? Otherwise, boring outfit.

Kim Hee-ae looks fabulous with the longish bob, bright red sweater and black n’ white star print dress. She matches the background purfectly.

Park Shiyeon is usually stylish but plays it safe this time with a white and black outfit. Glad to see that she still has the same face as the last time.

Sol Bi. Can’t really judge the outfit when she is covering it with her arm and half the picture is cut off. But, if I have to say one thing, the dress is probably baggy on her.

Uhm Jung-hwa must have gotten a new stylist because outfit looks fabulous. However, (and you know that was coming..) the baggy dress does nothing for her moos. If anything, the dress emphasizes the stubs.

SKII adds 2 new faces

Jung Hye-young and singer Park Ji-yoon joins Jang Jin-young and Kim Hee-ae as the faces of luxury skincare brand SKII for its whitening line.

Does SKII really need 2 more faces for its whitening care or is this just a reflection of the demand for the ever elusive pale skin in Korea?

That’s right, after 4 long years, Miss Jun Ji-hyun is out and Miss Song Hye-kyo is in as the new face for Laneige. The pretty star was chosen by Amore Pacific (parent company of Laneige) for her clear and gorgeous skin and her graceful demeanor.

The stars were shining at 15^th anniversary party of Elle Magazine (Korea) held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hannam-dong. The style concept was obviously red, white and black since the big names, such as 2007 Miss Universe 3^rd runner up, Honey Lee stuck to the color code. Check it out. Everyone looked befittingly stylish for the fashion magazine.

Hwang Ji-hyeon wears micro-short dress with a surprising bare back. Cute.

Models Song and Yoonju are paired up again posing for the cameras. This time, Yoonju has better makeup, although the outfit looks familiar.

Ms. Kim Hee-ae is stylin in the same red concept but this time belted and wearing a black patterned skirt. Ajumas take note -

Always stylish, Lee Hye-young wears a short cropped black jacket with leopard trim and a fitting black dress with gorgeous Louboutin style peep-toe pumps. The woman has style? even if she is wearing black!

The suit doesn’t look like it fits right for Lee Jeong-jin. What’s with the red hanky in his left breast pocket? I guess it is suppose to go with the theme.

Lee Kyu-han is preppy school boy cool in this sweater-white shirt & tie combo.

Son Yeh-jin is back in the limelight with this stylishly chic but simple outfit of white shirt and short black shorts. The beret pulls the look together.

Yoon Jung-hee is stylish in leopard print but she doesn’t have the confidence to pull it off. Her pose is slightly awkward.

Ajummas are everywhere. You can spot them by their squat bodies, aggressive attitude and permed head of hair (the “pama”). Most fashionable 20-30 somethings would not be caught dead in such a hairstyle, but with the 80’s look coming back in style, we are beginning to see the ajumma force spread to the masses. Celebs are bringing out the ajumma in them (because we all have it) by curling their locks. Kim Hee-ae’s character as glamourous and bitchy mistress in My man’s Woman had a full head of permed hair. And Bada uses the ajumma force in an attempt to revamp her career with horrid 80’s fashions. Shin Eun-kyung also channels the ajumma in her to play the strong, single career woman who seduces a man in order to have a baby in the SBS drama Bad Couple. However, the ajumma pama also crosses gender lines. The gagmen also adopt this hairdo because they want that extra laugh – even if it’s only for their hair.

Comeback queen, Bada’s new look must have been inspired by the glamorous Kim Hee Ae’s character of mistress from the drama, “My Man’s Woman.” She is trying to bring back the 80’s with the ajuma frizz, big earrings and bold bright neons. I don’t know any Korean woman in her right mind would have such a hairstyle for too long – it ages you 10 years. Bada looks like she is in her late 30’s and looking like that does not bode well for a young pop diva’s career. But then again, I could be wrong. Perhaps the ajuma frizz will be back in full force causing the masses to kink their hair in the same style. I already see hints of the 80’s neons coming back in accessories – shoes and bags. We just have to wait a bit longer before everyone starts wearing this look.

The one thing that is great about launching parties is seeing which stars turn out. The bigger the brand, the bigger the stars, and the bigger the goodie bags – in LV’s case- most likely bags! For the launch of the LV store at Hyundai Department Store in the prestigious neighborhood, Apku-jong, the high rollers were in full force – Check it out

Yoon Kae-sang – Looks fabulous in the dark blue outfit – this time the men look as good as the women.

Yoon Eun-hye – rockin the short do in an pretty LV dress. The dress is tres cute with the off-the-shoulder sleeves.

Song Yoona - long time no see! Ms. Song is dressed conservatively and considering the hot n’ humid weather, she should be showing a bit more skin.

Son Yeh-jin – gotta love that dress! Another LV creation. Ms. Son looks fabulous and is easily the queen of the night. The woman is glowing! The man giving her the googly-eyes is President of LV.

Kim Hee-ae - I can’t believe that she’s in her (early) 40s!. Model for the Japanese skincare line, SK II, Ms Kim is considered a fashionista as a result of her role as the other woman in the drama, “My man’s other woman(?)” (내 남자의 여자). She wears a simple but elegant dress.

Shin Mina – Doesn’t this woman know that’s it’s 30 degrees outside? There is no need to wear a scarf. Maybe she is hiding something. Perhaps a hickie? haha.

Ryu Seung-bum. Creative use of the LV bear on the shirt. Cute!

Lee Mi-yeon. Another celeb in the cream palette.

Lee Jin-wook – Mr. Lee should have checked with his Yoon Kae-sang before wearing this outfit. For guys, it doesn’t matter right?

Lee Hye-young - gotta love her personality! The woman’s got style. Another celeb in white. I am beginning to think that the whole LV collection is in white or creams.

Kwon Sang-woo – hot hot hot! Nothing more to say.

Ji Jin-hee – An awkward wave and awkward looking.

Kong Hyojin – those flowers…man, she needs a new stylist for sure! Maybe should have looked at the picture of the model properly. What’s the use of imitating a look if you can’t pull it off properly. boo.

Uhm Jung-hwa. Classic look, but I wish I should say that about her plastic features. I seriously think her face is melting…..
