Yet another star gets added to the MAMA “no-show” list .

Looks like  the 2009 MAMA will be out one “sexy queen”, as it has been confirmed that Lee Hyori will not be attending the awards show.

A representative from Mnet Media, Hyori’s company, has announced that “Lee Hyori will not be able to appear on MAMA. It is because she has schedules lined up, which were decided a long time back. Also, the fact that she did not do promotions as a singer this year, it will not be appropriate for her to perform on stage for MAMA.”

So far SM Entertainment, SS501 and Son Dam-bi, among others, have all backed out of the end-of-the-year award show.  With Hyori’s name now taken off the guest list, I’m left wondering what other stars will be announced as a “no-shows” before the MAMA airs on November 21st.

With her contract with Mnet Media coming to a close at the end of this year, Lee Hyori has no shortage of options when it comes to who she will sign with next. It has even been rumored that the diva has been offered amounts as large as 2 billion won to sign with a number of management companies.

The sexy singer has, however, rejected those offers and decided to work with Kil Jung-hwa, the former manager of Fin.K.L, the four-member girl group that launched Hyori’s career. Kil has recently started a production company to officially represent Hyori and the two have reportedly been in talks about working together since last summer.

Hyori working with her old manager, looks like the diva is taking a cue from another American diva (…ahem, Christina) and going “back to basics”.

The answer might surprise you.

Why? Well, because according to the staff of her latest Cosmopolitan magazine photo shoot, the diva’s body looked good enough not to have needed any digital retouching afterward. In other words, without the magic of Photoshop, Hyori looks exactly like she does in that first photo (yeah, I don’t buy it either).

A staff member who worked on the shoot has been reported as saying. “Lee Hyori is a very great woman. She has a very sexy and healthy body, that we don’t need any Photoshop for this photo shoot.”

Now, maybe Hyori didn’t need any Photoshop but, judging from the look of those photos, she got some anyway. Don’t get me wrong her body looks great, but it’s pretty much impossible to look that good without even a little help.

Am I alone in this one, or do you guys agree?

The “sexy queen” is at it again.

Remember when Lee Hyori played off her looks, saying she didn’t have the bikini body she used to? Well, from the looks of things, that diva lied!

Hyori shows off her…um, “talents” in her latest spread in Cosmopolitan magazine. The spread features Hyori posing for a series of shots, including couple shots with an unnamed (but equally hot co-star). The photos are provocative to say the least.

With her comeback slated for October, I guess Hyori’s trying to let everyone know she’s still got it. “It” being a rockin’ body!

Just my opinion, but this shoot could totally double as a lingerie ad, don’t you think?

For “As Long As I Love You“.

The anticipated collaboration between dance diva, Lee Hyo-ri, and Taiwan’s hottest male singer, Wilber Pan, has finally been unveiled. As a part of an endorsement deal for Hyundai i30, the two made a CF MV, along the lines of Samsung’s Anycall campaign, featuring a budding work relationship and possibly romance between the two stars.

The narrative flows quite nicely, and the two have good chemistry, but more along the lines of platonic compatibility than romantic fireworks. Lee Hyo-ri shows us what she is good at: dancing and flashing that smile; while Wilber Pan shows us his superstar persona that he also played in the Taiwanese drama, “Miss No Good“. I also felt they made a good use of the cars: still a Hyundai i30 model, but two different colors, which is also reflected in the character Lee Hyo-ri plays in the CF.

Yeah! And she’s looking awfully cute!

Lee Hyori has been appointed as the model for Interpark’s new Shopper’s Heaven advertisement, Service Heaven. Lee Hyori’s new Service Heaven CF for Interpark, marks the beginning of her one year contract with the company.  

According to Lee Bong-jae, the chief director of Interpark,

Lee Hyori’s image is not only very free, charismatic, sexy, urban and provocative but at times very lively, charming, energetic and like a friend. While she’s very popular and sophisticated she also has a very approachable and colorful charm that reaches out to the many generations of Korea. Not only is she a celebrity that is loved by many, she is also a trendy fashionista that has been a top star since her debut, 10 years ago. Her image of being a top star for the past 10 years fit the image of Interpark, Korea’s very first internet shopping mall, that has only striven to be the best since it’s establishment 10 years ago, which is the reason why we have appointed Lee Hyori as our new model.

Being a very picky shopper myself, watching the CF makes me wanna order something from Interpark right now. Too bad I don’t live in Korea though.

Who will be the last one smiling in October?

News that both Lee Hyori and Ivy will be making a comeback this coming October has been confirmed. Previously, Lee Hyori had stated that she will not be making a comeback unless the quality of her album is at its best. However, MNet Media has confirmed that all is going well with the recording of her album and they are working hard to complete everything and set her comeback for the end of October.

But why does it seem as though Lee Hyori is rushing her comeback after reports that Ivy was planning a comeback? For those of you that aren’t familiar with the old gossip, in the past Ivy had cheated on artist, Wheesung, who is close with Lee Hyori. Could it be that Lee Hyori is going to battle it out with Ivy on stage for her dongseng, Wheesung?

What’s even more interesting is that, for her upcoming album, Lee Hyori is working hand in hand with now MNet Media director and Ivy’s ex-manager, Lee Han-woo, who led Ivy to stardom back in 2007.

Could all of this just be a coincidence, or is Lee Hyori trying to send Ivy a message to show her whats up?

Too bad she doesn’t agree.

Singer Lee Hyo-ri recently appeared on the SBS program “One Night’s TV Entertainment” where it was revealed that the singer was voted number one best bikini body. The sexy queen, however, didn’t quite agree with the results, saying: “I think it is because everyone remembers the pretty photoshoots I did in bikinis when I was younger.” According to the diva, her figure isn’t quite what it used to be.

Hyori was also asked about the possibility of a Fin.K.L reunion anytime soon. The singer replied that with so many girl groups popping up, now wouldn’t be the best time for a comeback. She did, however, reveal that she’s a big fan of 2NE1 . Man, CL and the girls are getting a lot of love these days!

Award winning style, that is.

Though the show is still a few days away, it has already been revealed that singer Lee Hyori has been voted the “hot style icon” at this year’s Mnet 20’s Choice Awards. Hyori won the award at last year’s show as well.

The sexy queen beat out stars like Kim Yu-na, Son Dam-bi, Seo In-young and G-Dragon for the title. The singer is also nominated in the “hot body” and hot “multi-tainer” categories. We’ll see if she snags a few more glass drops when the show airs.

Find out what brought the diva to tears.

Singer Lee Hyori is currently a judge on “Superstar K“,  Mnet’s national talent search program. During the program’s second day of judging, the singer was so touched by a blind contestant’s performance that she broke down in tears.

On the day of the performance, the program’s remaining 40 contestants were placed into groups of five and asked to perform together. It was during this set of performances that Kim Kook-hwan, a blind man, praised his group mates for their support. Due of his disability, the group was unable to perform a flashy song and dance number, a choice that could have hindered their chances to advance. Instead, they chose a ballad and it seems their sacrifice made a big impression.

In the middle of the group’s performance of  8Eight’s “Without a Heart“, Lee Hyori was so touched that she began to cry and, honestly, who can blame her? After watching the performance, I got shivers too.

Get your mind out the gutter buddy! She’s just modeling for Guess Jeans.

Lee Hyori has been appointed the new model for Guess Jeans and these are photos from the new campaign, fresh out the oven. Lee Hyori has been appointed as the main model for the new Red Promotion for Guess’s new Red Line clothing. Lee Hyori was selected obviously for her sexy image that promotes their new line, awfully well. You can see the sexy queen get all hot and sultry with four lucky guys. But I can’t seem to figure out who’s the lucky one, Lee Hyori or the topless male models. Either way, these pictures sure are a hefty serving of eye candy for both guys and girls.
