With Lyn, Park Hyo-shin, Seo In-gook, and SS501.

On November 7th, Lyn and Park Hyo-shin performed a duet together of “Falling Slowly” from the 2007 Irish movie “Once“. Simple yet profound with mellow, acoustic rock instrumentation, “Falling Slowly” is probably one of the most beautiful songs composed in the past decade, sung by two indie musicians (Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova).

As two of Korea’s most talented singers, Lyn and Park Hyo-shin contribute a really great cover of “Falling Slowly” with their deep resonating vocals and a bit more soul than the original. They harmonize together incredibly well and there’s nothing like the raw power of good voices, so the accent is excusable. Check it out~

Park Hyo-shin did a little dance performance of “Deja Vu“. Although he leaves much to be desired in the flow department, his shy smile makes you go “Aww~it’s okay. You’re trying. A for effort.”

In addition to these two heavyweights, newcomer Seo In-gook from Superstar K and SS501 were also featured on “Chocolate”.

Seo In-gook certainly has an amazing pair of vocal chords, and his humble, yet smooth persona really makes the girls swoon. Just wanted to share his cover of Frankie J’s ”Don’t Wanna Try“~

SS501’s latest mini-album, “Rebirth“, is quite strong, and coupled with their bold new image, these boys are making no stops to the top. “Green Peas” is a quaint and simple song that highlight each of the boys’ vocals quite nicely. I’m totally digging Kyu-jong ’s skirt jacket.

Singers Park Hyo-shin and Girls Generation’s Tae-yeon recently sang his classic hit “Snow Flower” and, well, Tae-yeon didn’t sound that great.

All eyes were on Tae-yeon and Park Hyo-shin three days ago when the two were set to sing the duet “Snow Flower” from the 2004 KBS drama series “I’m Sorry I Love You” at the Seoul International Drama Awards. As a result, Tae-yeon has come under some harsh criticism for her singing skills or lack of.

Although she wasn’t off pitch, her voice never cracked and she didn’t forget any lines, netizens were not impressed. Netizens have speculated that Tae-yeon might have been sick.

So what went wrong?

In her defense, Park Hyo-shin (who sounded incredible by the way) has stood behind his singing partner. On his Cyworld homepage today, the singer wrote that he was “very distressed by comments” regarding the performance:

At that age, it is difficult to have the kind of emotion Taeyeon has when she sings. In fact, it is even harder to express that emotion… She shows another side of her when with other Girls’ Generation members. Tae-yeon’s hard work and the tears she had shed while pursuing her dreams has allowed her to be a faultless singer. I would like to say that I look at her as a sunbae and as a fellow singer.”

Huh? Hard work and tears do not make for a good singer. Park Hyo-shin must be tone deaf? Anyhow, to make matters worse, he claims that he was actually the sick one (so she has no excuse).

It’s quite well known that “Snow Flower” was inspired by the Japanese song “Yuki No Hana” by Mika Nakashima; to which Park doesn’t think Taeyeon should be compared.

Aww, the still cut from the MV looks awfully cute. Park Hyo-shin, who is making a comeback with his sixth album “Gift“ in September has released a teaser of the MV for his new title track, “After Love”. The MV has already garnered a lot of attention for the romantic kiss shared between Park Hyo-shin and Park Si-yeon. Not only was this the very first kiss scene Park Hyo-shin filmed since his debut, it was also a kiss he was able to share with Park Si-yeon, who he had previously stated was his ideal girl.

The full MV will be released through Mnet on August 29th. “Gift”, which will be released in two parts, will have the first part released on September 15th, with the second part releasing sometime between November and December.

Yes, it looks like singer Park Hyo-shin has slapped on a bit of foundation to smooth out his complexion – unless his face looks plasticky all the time. But don’t mind the makeup though, he probably went straight to the Club Monaco Fashion Show from the studio, so he had to wear coverup. And check out the hair – the man is rocking the asymmetric look. However, I can’t get over the nose. There is something about the nose that bothers me- it just looks too high and too fake. Have you ever seen a person who had so much plastic surgery, you can’t look at them straight in the face? Well I have. There is something about them that doesn’t seem human – more like artificial. And Hyo-shin seems like one of those people. But then again, perhaps it’s just me?

Hit or Miss: Park Hyoshin

We regret to inform you that ballad singer Park Hyo Shin was hospitalized yesterday after he fainted during his concert rehearsal. It was reported that he has been suffering from fatigue, high fever and pain in his vocal chords since last week, but he insisted on practicing at his studio to prepare for his concert tour, and it looks like he’s been working his body too hard. He’s currently hospitalized at Shin-Cheon (신촌) Severance Hospital and his reps haven’t released their official statement about the possible postponement of his concert scheduled at Bushan on the 12th, but it looks like it has to be delayed. Feel better Hyo Shin!

I’m not sure why the media is going crazy over Kim Dong Wan’s nose surgery confession, but they are. His confession is not newsworthy because he already confessed that he got his nose done before his debut a couple years ago – so praising him for his boldness for repeating what he said a couple of years ago is just nonsense to me.

But since we are on the subject of male celebs going under the knife, let’s go over the short list of male celebs who confessed using plastics to get their looks. Park Hyo Shin and Kwon Sang Woo for their double eye lids and Lim Chung Jung and Kim Dong Wan for their nose jobs. There are many more that went under the knife, but for some reason, it’s hard to find the evidences to support the unofficial list of male celebs’ plastic surgery – so we’ll refrain from naming them until we find the necessary evidences, but I assure you that the list is sizable.

Can you recognize the model? It’s R&B singer Park Hyo Shin and he’s trying really hard these days to attract the media spotlight that are geared mostly towards the dance singers. Park Hyo Shin started out with his double eye lid surgery before his 5th album comeback, then he looked like a wanna be rapper for a while and yesterday, he walked on the runway with way too much make-up that accentuated his vampire look. Are you digging his unnatural look?

Ballad singer, Park Hyo Shin came back with his fifth album looking like wanna be rapper. Maybe it’s just me, but he looks super freaky like a vampire scared to see the light of day. What do you think? Is it a hit or miss?
