The “Style Icon Awards” took place on November 11, at Namsan Seoul Tower Special Air Dome and the celebrities graced the ceremony with their holy presence and some questionable attire (Suh In-young anyone?) .The voluptuous Kim Hye-soo was awarded the “Icon of the Year” award. Woman knows how to flaunt what her mama gave her!

Fierce fashion idols 2ne1 won the female singer awards! The MCs for the event was Suh In-young and Baek Ji-yeon. Now you’ll be the judge, who is in and who is out?

On November 9th, 2NE1 leader CL posted on her Me2day (Korean twitter) this picture and the message “1121 U KNO WHAT DAY THAT IS.”

Despite that fact that the all caps makes me feel like she’s rapping it to me, she’s referring to the MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards). Maybe she’s calling out to her fans, as 2NE1 is currently trailing to rival f(x). Some fans even answered her question (?) with “the day that 2NE1 wins the best female group award.”

…a mini bottle of Cass beer.

The growing portfolio of selca shots by Sandara Park of girl group, 2NE1 now includes a cute little prop- a teeny tiny bottle of Cass beer. The 2NE1 member has finished shooting a CF with an unidentified beer brand (hint, see above) with “Boys overFlowers” star, Lee Min-ho. Expect dancing and beer guzzling.

The photos of Sandara fooling around with a bottle of beer were posted up on her Me2day site on November 4th.

How did she feel about sharing the stage with her little brother “Thunder“?

Thunder from MBLAQ is definitely rising up in the ranks, thanks to his famous sister. On October 31st for the Superstar Power of Love Concert, the siblings were able to share the stage together.  Dara shared her feelings on her me2day.

Her instincts as big sister came into play when she wrote:

Ah~ I’m nervous~!!! Today’s concept is pretty noona!!! ^.^ There is a man I have to meet at Superstar Power of Love Concert!!! Today is big sister force. I’m always the nicest unnie or noona in the house! At home and in my team! Don’t you feel proud of me?

We know it’s a corny title but at least it’ll be an interesting stage.

Recently debuted MBLAQ member, Thunder,  more well known as 2NE1’s Dara’s little brother, will be performing with his noona at the “Superstar Power of Love” concert on Halloween at Seoul Olympic Stadium for the first time.

Joined by other superstars such as 2NE1, world star Rain, and 4minute, an “exclusive” 5,000 people are definitely going to be feeling the love that night.

“Superstar Power of Love” concert is being held to help underprivileged children in Korea.

They want your money, all of it.

2NE1 get down in their thug concept photoshoot for the W magazine.

All the members were able to conform well into the concept, but each presented a different gangster style: CL as a Japanese Yanki, Sandara as a classy mafia thug, Bom as a biker chick, and Minzy as a smooth Western criminal.

They sure know how to turn heads in a variety of looks. Looking so tough and sublimely editorial, they can do some serious damage.

Probably the easiest way to become an idol star is to have family member who already is one.

Case in point. Sandara Park of 2NE1’s younger brother, Park Sang-hyun has hooked up as member, “Chun-doong” of the hyped up boy group, “MBLAQ” produced by Rain.

The little sister of Jessica from hit girl group, Girls Generation (SNSD) has just debuted in the new girl group, f(x) as Krystal.

And Kim Hyung-joon’s (SS501) brother, Kim Ki-bum belongs to the boy group, U-KISS.

So what’s tip #2 on how to be an idol star? Just audition.SM and JYP are both looking  for fresh blood.

The biggest concert of the year, the 2009 Dream Concert packed in idol fans into the World Cup Stadium on October 10th. The 3.5 hour concert featured 17 of your favorite pop acts: Girls Generation, KARA, Jewelry, f(x), 2NE1, 4Minute, Tiara & Supernova, Super Junior, Big Bang, 2PM, 2AM, MC Mong, Park Hyo-shin, Kim Tae-woo, Chae-yeon, SHINee and Wheesung.

And since the weather is turning cooler, the pop acts have followed suit by turning to black fashions to blend into the equally darkened stage. With all the black, how are we supposed to  tell who is who?

Insanely popular rookie group 2NE1 will be making their first appearance on a non-music-related show with the new SBS show Strong Heart, a simple yet entertaining talk show where guests share stories and pick bones. Big Bang’s maknae Seungri appeared on the show debut last week with G-Dragon (who revealed one of Seungri’s embarrassing drunken escapades) and this week KARA’s Nicole and Goo Hara are to join 2NE1 among many other guests.

Interestingly enough, Goo Hara revealed during the show’s taping that she’s been “looking after 2NE1’s Minzy since she was young” and that “Big Bang’s Seungri is like family as well.” What? The three are “like family?!” Way before they debuted, the three youngsters attended the same dance school in their hometown, Gwangjoo. Gwangjoo is also the hometown of Dong Bang Skin Gi’s Yunho and Wondergirl Yubin.

Isn’t that interesting? Who knew that such vastly different artists were “like family?” And, if you think about it they’re all kinda sorta their group’s resident dancer. Minus Goo Hara, she’s the pretty KARA member.

Producer Teddy has revelaed that the track will be as big a hit as 2NE1’s “Lollipop” and “I Don’t Care.” The second single “Wedding Dress” will be released sometime later with no special promotions in between. 1) Holy guns Batman! Taeyang is definitely the Big Bang member most known for their body. I mean, those veins don’t come very easily.

2) Although there doesn’t seem to be anything spectacularly fascinating with these concept photos in comparison to G-Dragon’s famous promo pics, they reveal that Taeyang is bringing back thug, hip-hop-ness to YG Entertainment, what it was known for before 2NE1’s neon tights and G-Dragon’s bright makeup.

Are U excited for Taeyang’s sophomore hit?

By releasing “Chocolate.”

Earlier this May, YG Entertainment created the first CF/endorsement track to reach #1 on various music charts with Big Bang and rookie group 2NE1’s “Lollipop.” SM Entertainment is ready to try their hand at this new market by having one of their top cash cows Girls Generation and rookies f(x) sing “Chocolate,” an endorsement for the new LG Chocolate phone.

Both groups will sing the same song with Girls Generation singing a soft, feminine version while f(x) sings a more electro-pop version. The tracks will be released October 8th through various online music portals.

I’m still obsessed with Girls Generation’s silly “Ramen.”
