You can’t escape it. Crazed fans are everywhere. It is the blind adoration by these overzealous fans that lead to rabid attacks of anyone who voice their opinion against their idols. Not only were we the targets of attack, but Korean rapper 60Row is currently fighting his own battle with die-hard fans because he trashed bubblegum pop singers DBSK, SG Wanna Be and Big Bang in his song “stop ya music.” He basically called them garbage and asked them to “stop ya music.”
Despite the dis, he has a valid point. The Korean music industry is mostly driven by teen idol stars who have the largest fan base and it’s getting harder to see real musicians survive in the cut throat industry. His lyrics might sit uncomfortably for some, especially for loyal DBSK, SG Wanna Be & Big Bang fans, but it did raise the needed awareness regarding the issues that hinder the progression of the Korean music industry.
Reading comments about 60Row’s song in various message boards reminded me of our weekend and it’s obvious that both parties (60row fans & 60row antis – mostly comprised of DBSK, SG Wanna Be & Big Bang die-hard fans) are extremely stubborn in their views. However, at the end of the day, it’s those very controversies and clashes of opinion that make our culture interesting. If we all had the same opinion – worshipping the same pop groups- then it wouldn’t be a discourse, it would be preaching.
Hopefully 60row’s song will motivate the movers and shakers of the music industry to focus on discovering real talent, instead of creating pretty boy groups who only have their looks to count as talent.
There is such thing as freedom of speech, but 60row shouldn’t have offended other groups. Sure, DBSK and Big Bang are successful because they are good looking; but they’re also really talented good people. I’m sure 60row has good music and all, but it’s rude to make fun of others. The fans tend to get scary sometimes, I have to admit.

I agree with SELAH. If he wanted to pick on groups that have looks and numbers but no talent, he picked the wrong ones. SG Wannabe is clearly one of the best group of singers in Korea, and they’re most obviously NOT focused on the looks department. DBSK and Big Bang are both young pretty boys targetting teenage girls, but their singing and dancing talent remains an undeniable selling point.
60row will have to look farther afield for better victims to make his point XD
i’m a DBSK fan, but i can definetly take a few critiques on their music or acting or whatever.

ok, so maybe korean boy bands are a bit overrated. it’s not their fault, its the fans, so stop blaming it on them. their still quite popular, and they couldn’t have done it with just pure looks. get a life, anti-fans– korean boy bands don’t get there with their faces– talents are invovled as well.
and at the rapper– ur brain is about as effective as a peanut. yes, u have ur own opinions. if u don’t want to suffer trauma, to the courtesy of die-hard fans, plz keep them to urself. NO NEED TO CALL THEM TRASH CUZ UR A BIT ENVIOUS OF THEIR TALENT AND POPULARITY. go get urself a mirror. that’s probably what will give u trauma.
