Looking at the before picture, she has obviously lost some weight since highschool (many Korean girls who through a high-school fat stage, like the frosh fifteen). After losing the weight and gaining confidence, the next step is getting the double folds in the eyes. Getting the eyes done is no big deal – almost every girl goes under the knife to make the eyes bigger. In her case, I think (although I am not an expert) that she also got her eyes widened- the whites of the eyes are more visible. After the eyes is the nose. For Kim Ajoong, it’s very obvious that she got her nose done. For celebs, the minimum nose lift is about 5mm. If you are a regular person, an extra lift of 2-3mm is usually the norm. At the same time, celebs usually have to have cosmetic dentistry. Again, Kim Ajoong looks like she has veneers and her front teeth are larger (and whiter). To straighten teeth quickly, many celebs just get their teeth pulled and re-planted. The flip side of this is that your gums may turn grayish which is not attractive (check out Kim Heesun – she never shows her gums when she smiles). Also, it looks like that she might have gotten an implant in her forehead to make it look rounder. All this work at the cost of millions of won has helped Kim Ajoong be the beauty that she is now.*
I personally am a fan of Kim Ah Joong so it might not seem like Im in the best of positions to comment on this issue, however, I would still like to voice my opinion in the most non-bias way.
Given that you were born with ugly features, despised by most because of this handicap would you not wish to choose the option of plastic surgery?
I would definitely opt to go under the knife as it would rid me of that handicap and open many opportunities. So given that choice would you do the same?
If you were disfigured or had a ‘handicap’ as you say, then I think it’s perfectly logical for that person to want to find a way to change that. However the actress this article is talking about didn’t have any sort of handicap/disability- she went under the knife because she’s an actress so looks are extremely important in that industry. And you can’t just assume that she was so hideously ugly that she was ‘despised by most because of this handicap’ because you have no evidence to back it up. So I agree with you but I think you got the context confused.
personally i feel as though she has the right whether to become pretty. i think she really wanted to change. thats why she came out in 200 pound beauty. i dont hate on that. just the celebrities who are naturally beautiful but wants more and can not be satisfied.

Actually I read several stories about korean women that got a total face change just like this Kim Ajoong. The stories are that these korean women never told their husband that they got a complete face change. One korean women gave birth to a set of twins that got her birth face & the husband wonder where the kids got their fugly faces cuz it isn’t from his family cuz he is white. His wife family all got plastic surgeries too, so he never figure it out cuz she didn’t tell him either. Another korean women had to admit to his non-korean husband that she was as plastic as USA’s Cindy Jackson and he was angry and dumped her cuz the only child they have looked like a pig. The 3rd korean women also gave birth to several kids and they all got her fugly face, but the husband is korean and already figured it out that his wife is very plastic and himself got nose and eyelid surgery.
eh doesnt anyone keep up with the real facts? it was reported that this is FAKE. the real person in the “before” picture came out and told the truth. It’s not kim a joong. although i dont believe for a second that kim ah joong is natural, i dont think people should criticize so much when we’re the reasons she’s doing it
To Imao, you must be Kim ah jung yourself. There is no facts that proof what you are saying. That is her in the before photo. THis girl had loads of plastic surgeries just like all the korean celebrities in south korea.

i like her too..and i don’t mind if she had surgery or so..not all people are born beautiful. even the pretty ones, they’re pressured to maintain their pretty faces..ha..nothing is impossible with the modern stuff we have now..anyone can be beautiful…thank god!!
Your right on the money Kate09………. If people have money, they can look the way they want. But inner beauty ( good morals, kindness, being thoughtful, integrities, etc), however is not obtainable by any type of surgeries…………

it dosen’t matter if she undergo a plastic surgery..this time we are in modern world and modern stuff..so what’s the matter?? we dont care! beside is not our money to use for her surgery..Anyway, she is not only celebrity who undergo a plastic surgery..If its true or not..i still like her..she is not only pretty..she is a good actress and model also..so stop bashing her about this topic..its useless actually. Instead of bashing her, compare her previous picture..why dont we support her!
it doesn’t matter if she undergoes surgery just to be pretty, its a matter of fact that many people also do the same thing as her because they cannot gain any respect to others because of they feature. wake up people, if you are in the situation of Kim you will do the same so you can gain love and respect.

they also have more chance of survival… or should i say, they have a better chance in getting married. ppl like marrying beautiful more, even if they’re stupid and not nice.
in a survey that i did on about 34 people, almost half (regardless of race or sex or age) said they would marry someone who’s beautiful but not nice and stupid, rather than someone who’s nice but ugly and stupid, or someone who’s intelligent but ugly and not nice.
so there you go… sometimes the truth is hard to accept. and the desire to look beautiful might not be delusional after all.
so what if she under went plastic surgery? That’s her money and that’s how she wants to spend it. Its her way of treating herself and exploring the meaning of being happy.

NO, I don’t envy her. She looks too plastic. Koreans don’t have faces that look like that and she is way over done.
Look at Park si Yeon. She had a total face change. She was miss korea 2000 4th runner up. Some koreans must be blind not to see that her face totally change. Her eyes, nose, chin, cheeks are very different than her 2000 photo for miss korea 2000. Look at the “v” shape of her jaw. She is so plastic. Kim ah jung is very plastic. I am korean and I have many korean relative living in south korea. It is very common for koreans in south korea to get plastic surgereies. It is not big deal.
Most koreans I ever known in Los Angeles have very small eyes. Koreans after loads of plastic surgeries look chinese, southeast asian, or filipina. Most koreans are born with very small slit eyes with no creases. Korean plastic surgeons are amazing . Most korean girls already had eyelid surgeries plus many other facial plastic surgeries. Many koreans get nose bridge implants, bone shaving to alter their facial bone structure and face shapes.
