Lost star, Kim Yunjin’s name is synonymous with the term “world star.” Everytime you see her name in the Korean press, it’s “world star Kim Yunjin.“ Ok, that’s all great and dandy. But what really makes her a world star? It’s her fat wallet- or should I say her stuffed coffers of Hollywood cash that sets her apart from an ordinary domestic star from a world star.
She has even admitted on a recent episode of the SBS variety program, Ya-shim-mahn-mahn, that when she is feeling low, she gains her strength and will to overcome the struggles of Hollywood by looking her overflowing bankbook. Wow. That sounds pretty shallow. Or perhaps very blunt.
I guess money does make the world go round- at least for Ms Yunjin.

Some people are very naive, it’s all good to say that money doesn’t buy u happiness but how many poor people look happy?!! I guess she had to work hard to get to where she is and she’s been rewarded for it. She looks like a nice person in real life so why not enjoy her money?!
Eh, money is what makes the world go round *especially* in Hollywood, where it’s even rarer for a breakout female Asian star. Sandra Oh and Kim Yun-jin are the ladies of the moment with hit tv shows, so I say, good for her. She earned that money.

well the size of market and scale of production in american TV does make her super-rich compared to what she can earn working in korea. but looking at her filmography, i can imagine why she’d feel down b/c the jobs available haven’t been of the greatest range. granted it’s hard to be an actress anywhere in the world even if you have talent. she still talks about losing out roles like Peppermint Candy, etc. and her film career in America always seemed to be ready to take off, but still nothing in production yet.
Who doesn’t like money? Kim Yunjin is only stating a honest and natural response. It would be naive to think that money is not important. Thinking that money is a shallow subject that has nothing to do with ideals and dreams, think again. We trade hours out of our life for money. If we did not need it, we could give more time to family and ourselves.

I agree with her. When you have money it definitely makes you happier. Plus for the people who say that poor people are happy….well yes they CAN be happy but when they can’t put food on the table…who’s happy? When you want to buy a new TV or fix your broken stove…and you have no money, well that doesn’t make anybody happy. Only naive people think you can be happy with no money, well unless you’re a nomad and you live a lifestyle that needs no money. *shrug
I wonder if this is what she means: when I am at work and feeling down, I literally access my checking account and my investment account. When I see a new deposit or an increase in my portfolio, I feel happier for the next few hours.
Having money to spend when the need arises or for fun on weekends is good, but actually seeing the bank account grow is what gets me through the work day.
when you need money for to see a specialist doctor for medical conditions or money to help your relatives in dire straits, yeah! i say, money doesn’t really makes you happy but it sure helpful around to help you when you need it and does not need to go asking around!!!

On second thought, I think Kim Yunjin and Honey Lee should switch their lives. Each possesses what the other lacks but wants. So with their new selves, Yunjin could at least be beautiful, and Honey could have her fat wallet.
hm, the thing is, on the show she was talking about how BECAUSE she is able to earn money, she can make her parents happier and see them pretty much reap the benefits of what she’s put her hard work into.. i didn’t really take it as her being selfish although she DID mention it a lot throughout the show

I work to make money so i can make a living, when things get rough at work and i feel like i wanted to just quit my job I just have to look at my paycheck and everything will start to make sense again….Money does boost your spirit in a good way..It makes us human..not money faced at all.

Of course one will gain strength if you look at your overflowing bankbook~ and becoz its just the fruit of your hardwork, nothing wrong with that. If i have a fat wallet too, it’ll always cheer me up, who doesnt love money? I do, i do [but it doesnt let me get me,] I love Yashimanman, its like a no holds barred talkshow where you see the true selves of the stars and most of the times all of them end up crying over a story..
