Rain’s gloomy weather forecast

0622-rain2.jpg

Rain fans, the judge finally ruled and gave our Korean Rain the right to use the name “Rain” in the states. So victory for Rain, but his legal battles are not over yet. It looks like Click Entertainment is suing Rain for damages as they are having a hard time refunding tickets for the Hawaii concert. They argued that Rain never intended to perform in Hawaii, in fact, it was a total scam from the beginning since Star M’s excuses for not performing were all flimsy. The official reason for the postponement of the concert were the on-going legal battle over the name Rain and the difficulty of preparing the concert for so many venues with a tight schedule. If the legal battles were so problematic, why did Rain decide to hold the LA concert? If he’s willing to risk it for that concert, why not the rest of the concerts? Something’s fishy here and many believe that the low ticket sales might have been the deciding factor.

In addition, Toronto fans are outraged by the bounced checks they’ve been receiving as the their ticket refunds. It’s like adding salt to the wound. They were probably really disappointed that they couldn’t see Rain perform and finding out that they can’t get their refunds must make matters worse for them. Star M’s official statement was that it is Revolution Entertainment’s responsibility to take care of the refunds and they will work with them to come up with a better plan to deal with this issue.

What a nightmare for Rain, but seriously, it’s been weeks since he postponed his concerts and for him to hide behind Star M and his reps without taking any kind of stance is cowardly and very stupid. Doesn’t he know that his image will be hurt the most at the end of all these legal battles? Perhaps he’s planning to author a book “How to screw up your US debut” and make money off from the book sales.

  2. 2 jiwoo June 23, 2007 at 9:34 am

although there are a lotta azns in the u.s i doubt that bi will be able to make a solid debut because of what kind of music is in right now which would be rap r&b and stuff and i think its crappy that rain doesnthelp clean up part of the mess he is one of the main reasons for these issues…but he is a pretty good singer

  3. 3 yui June 23, 2007 at 10:02 am

    i officially dislike rain!!!!

i still havet gotten my $135 back yet

    GIVE ME MY MONEY!!!!!!!!!11

  4. 4 Lulu June 23, 2007 at 10:07 am

    Sucks for him. ._.;;

I dunno, maybe he shouldn’t have left JYP :/ Then at least he still would’ve retained some ounce of credibility.

  5. 5 jaenie June 23, 2007 at 10:09 am

WTH??? that really sucks. isn’t he the world’s #1 most influential person? so what’s up with his actions right now? don’t make me disappointed.

  6. 6 parkerlewis June 23, 2007 at 10:16 am

#1 most influential person by way of his fans polluting the polls.

  7. 7 OMG! June 23, 2007 at 10:16 am

rain may have made a fatal mistake in leaving park jinyoung’s side. jyp (the man, not the company) made rain who he is today. i think his new handlers are totally misleading rain and the recent exposure has all gone to rain’s head. boy needs to take a step back and reanalyze his priorities. here’s a link to the article in the honolulu advertiser:

how can the concerts be managed this poorly? does he only have yes-men who just wanna line their own pockets for the short run?
the fiasco snowballs at such rate it looks like a planned sabotage!
BTW that photo looks so much like j-pop “visual kei” pioneer kenji sawada, when he was doing the parisian chic phase in mid-70s.
poor rain, hang in there son :(

  9. 9 yui June 23, 2007 at 10:23 am

jaenie where have you been, no offence to rain but that poll was obviuos crap, he only one becasue of fans with no life that kept voting him up, and voting others down

rains about as influencial as dog shit

Oh yui not 135.00 dollars holy crap. Yeah Rain is tripping a little too hard and his butt is not even that famous in the states. Selling out Madison Square Garden is only but one step. So far his next couple of steps are out of sync.

  16. 16 yeli June 23, 2007 at 12:53 pm

    wow…

it sucks because technically this is M Entertainment’s (or who ever organized the whole thing) fault but it is HIS image that is being damaged…he should at least say something though, to ease his fans…

    poor guy….
he can’t possible do EVERYTHING at once…he needs to take a breather and handle one thing at a time…

isn’t he starting to film Speed Racer soon too??

  17. 17 penny June 23, 2007 at 1:02 pm

i’m a Rain’s fan, not a die hard one, but i just enjoy his music..the boy does have A LOT on his plate right now and he needs to slow down…maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to tour the US should just stick with touring Asia..i can understand why people would want him to take responsibilty because it is his concert but he’s not incharge of booking the venues or refunding tickets to people..maybe some of you are right, maybe StarM just wants to make money off him and in their hunger for money they’re also making him look bad…time will tell in the end so..

  18. 18 inez June 23, 2007 at 1:31 pm

Exactly..he’s moving too fast..Doing a World Tour is insane enough..he needs to take a breather..but with a Hollywood movie ..??..Gosh..i feel so crappy bad for his fans who have paid thousands of bucks to see him and sad for Rain too..at least he’s got his famous name back..HWAITING Rain!!..

  19. 19 christaluvsdrama June 23, 2007 at 2:04 pm

If he doesn’t fix this Star M’s reps said that Bi would never get step in the US(as performer), being that he’d follow him wherever he went to make sure the wouldn’t support him.*sighs* I luv Bi’s music and dramas, I hope everything works out for him and just like someone already said he needs to buckle down. The Entertainment Industry is a big big buiz.

  20. 20 rei June 23, 2007 at 2:51 pm

ppl, you vnt just put all the blame on him cus he doesnt know tt things will work out as terrible as this n i no he wldnt want it either. It’s understandable tt he has 2 postpone the us concerts cus he wasnt allowed 2 use the name Rain n he gt faced with a lawsuit. You cnt just possibly expect him 2 happily hold a concert wif tt kind of situation…well those who r mad for nt gtting the refumd,it’s not totally his fault cus the Rain Corp filed a lawsuit against him n causes all the mess.

  21. 21 dust bunny June 23, 2007 at 3:04 pm

Of course it was because of poor ticket sales. I laugh every time a Korean calls him a ‘world star’. it is a joke. He might be reasonably popular in Asia and with some Asians in America, but honestly no one else gives a crap.

  22. 22 lennie June 23, 2007 at 3:11 pm

yeah, seriously. i kind of agree with dust bunny. koreans always try to make their korean celebrities sound like these huuuuge world stars (even the whole hallyu wave is somewhat exaggerated)… koreans have so much national pride. -_-
anyway, the guy needs to get with reps that know what they’re doing. he may be talented, but he is obviously NOT good at handling business.

  23. 23 teabag June 23, 2007 at 6:26 pm

He is an airhead that’s why this happening to him.

  24. 24 Shai June 23, 2007 at 8:29 pm

Oh please, give him a break. It’s not like he wanted all these to happen. And I’m sure he was not trying to scam people..he’s been very conscious of his moves and his words from the start.

  25. 25 Ami June 23, 2007 at 10:55 pm

Give him a break why? He chose to surround himself with incompetent people and just like the President he should burn with them. He’s an artist not a 5 year old. THIS WAS HIS US DEBUT! He should have been right there checking to make sure everything was on track, instead he was everywhere but the US. Now all he can say is he’s “disappointed”. How do you think his fans feel, the ones who support him and got screwed. This whole thing is shady. People getting bounced refund checks, people having trouble getting any refunds at all. WHERE IS THE MONEY? Somebody got a profit off of this catastrophe and from the looks of the new lawsuit it wasn’t the promoters.

And how ironic is it that JYP US record label launch party post is above this? lol
    I love it.

  26. 26 ugg June 23, 2007 at 11:07 pm

i agree with dust bunny, those dumb-ass koreans are always trying to play off their celebs as world stars

am i the only one that noticed that everywhere you see rain he mentions the time 100 thing, he’s not the only asian thats been on it, yet he’s the only one that ever meantions it everywhere he goes

  27. 27 Pviolet June 23, 2007 at 11:23 pm

  28. 28 Niha June 23, 2007 at 11:25 pm

I hate to join in on this but the Korean fanbases are batsh*t crazy sometimes.

Let’s be honest, Rain fan or not, we all know that poll was fixed by the Korean Rain fans sitting at home all day voting over & over again.

I like Rain, but influential ?
    I’m not crazy.
I know that if I asked anybody I know, 99% of them would have no idea who the crap he was and would probably laugh at him being called “Rain” on top of that.

  29. 29 Huey June 23, 2007 at 11:50 pm

I think we cant blame Rain for everything. personally i feel it’s Star M trying to make big money on him that’s outside Rain’s capability. if Rain wanna enter the US market, i think Rain n Star M should make a press conference to make clear that he’s gonna postponed or cancel the concert.

  30. 30 Sue June 24, 2007 at 12:05 am

No ones blaming him for everything but Like Ami said Rain is a grown man and he should stop letting people do everything for him & make decisions himself once in awhile.

No one has explained anything honestly YET!
    That’s crap.
A lot have people have lost a lot of money and Rain hasn’t even said anything besides 2 words about it.
I spent $300 on VIP tickets and was suppose to get a cash refund and I have received nothing yet!

  31. 31 jane =] June 24, 2007 at 12:06 am

i’m not really a fan of Bi, he’s decent at singing, dancing, and acting, and i admit hes talented..but wow he is screwed big time. i dont think he should have ever left JYP in the first place, you know what happens when you leave the person who created you. and just to inform everyone, we all KNOW that the fans voted others out and voted bi for the time magazine bullshit. im sure bi knew too, so stop trying to act like a smartass.

i admit too, the only fans that are in the states for bi are asian-americans, or asians. there are no whities supporting bi, he shouldve taken it A LOT slower. maybe improve his english a bit here and there, and try to promote himself in the states more. doesnt each country have its pride? those who dont have pride are weak. even though korea says that bi is a “world star”, no one really did consider him one in the first place, so calm your asses down.

i really do feel sorry for bi though. look at all these people bitching on him on this blog, he has to deal with that times 1000, or probably more. its not to blame entirely on him. i feel his pain. not really, but fighting~

  32. 32 yui June 24, 2007 at 2:29 am

i want to feel sorry for him but i cant, the sf concert was cancelled about a month agao, and yet still no refund

rain isnt as big in the states as he thinks he is, the sf ticket sales were really low, and apperently so were the hawaii and other places

and as much as i hate agreeing with that obvious racist ugg, i have to on one point, he is right when he says that every profile rain has, whether its an official profile or not has the time 100 thing, get over it already

im korean ok, and yes i do admit that some of us do go crazy sometimes as fans, but i dont. unlike most koreans i dont think rains a world star, theres a difference between have pride and being conceited

  33. 33 Jay June 24, 2007 at 4:17 am

It’s the same in Canada too !
We still didn’t get our money back because of Star M.

  34. 34 jess1tym June 24, 2007 at 5:51 am

Whoa, I was gonna buy a ticket for the concert in LA but I didn’t. Kind of glad now.

I hope everybody will get their money back soon. That’s kind of messed up. Now I’m going think twice before I buy a concert ticket for any korean concert.

Lucky for me, my first experience w/this concert thing was w/the YG concert last year and thank god things went smoothly.

I feel bad for “Rain” guess his english debut is not going to be all that great huh, there’s a lot of angry fans out there.

  35. 35 ~HSG~ June 24, 2007 at 6:07 am

Maybe he should just get better promoters. His promoters have jacked his concerts up constantly.

  36. 36 Karen June 24, 2007 at 11:41 am

Last December I attended Rain’s concert in Las Vegas and paid good money for it. It was definitely worth it as the amount of energy, presentation, and effort that went into putting on a great show was most evident. I also purchased tickets for his concert here in Hawaii and have already received my refund. Yes, it is disappointing that the concert did not go on as scheduled but should I get the opportunity to attend another of his concert whether here in Hawaii or somewhere else, I hope to to be there !

  37. 37 Lynn June 24, 2007 at 12:46 pm

Rain knows StarM is very disorganized but why do he still choose to be with StarM and let them ruin his reputation over and over?…Coz Appa Jeong became a StarM stockholder just a couple of months ago which is mean Rain could be one of the owner…They cancelled mostly because of poor ticket sales and the whole legal name battle just to cover the whole thing.

  38. 38 haha June 24, 2007 at 1:58 pm

Yeah, like Bi has anything to do with decisions made by his label & managers.

  39. 39 OMG! June 24, 2007 at 2:46 pm

aloha stadium is a 50,000 seat venue for football, 20,000 seats in concert form. did rain’s handlers really think they could sellout the stadium? only u2, janet jackson, michael jackson and a few others have managed to sellout the stadium. he would’ve been better off booking the neil blaisdell center which is a 10,000 seat venue, about 7,000 seat venue in concert trim.

really sucks to be rain right now. betcha’ he wishes he never left jyp’s side now. any good momentum that rain had is just about gone. that’s too bad.

    Found on soompi:

US World Tour Organizer “Is Deeply Apologetic for Causing Damage to Rain’s Reputation”
    23 Jun Daum news
    Kr to Ch: lovebi_rain
    Ch to Eng: rayndrop

Official organizer, Revolution Entertainment, released an official notice on night of the 22nd, stating their stand on the problems pertaining to singer Rain’s US Concert Tour.

After Rain’s US concert tour was forced to go on hold, several refunding and other problems emerged. The local promoter who holds rights to the US concert tour issued an official apology for this.

Recently, Rain was having legal issues for the use of “Rain”. This affected his world concert tour, named “Rain’s Coming”, which was slated to happen on 30th June.

The prosecution case was raised by a Nevada-based records company, Rain Corporation, which has already registered the name “Rain” for a Beatles tribute band under them, called “Rain”.

O the 21st (US time), Nevada State Court has rejected the case. Rain is hence able to use his original concert tour name “Rain’s Coming” for his upcoming LA concert in L.A.

As the official promoter for the US concert tour, Revolution Entertainment has this to say, “We apologies for the concert postponements brought about by the ‘Rain’ lawsuit, and takes responsibility for not taking preventive measures before this issue happened. We’re looking for ways to make up for the losses that has been occurred due to the postponements”. “We are deeply apologetic for the damage to Rain’s reputation, and the disappointments to fans.”

Below is a statement from Revolution Entertainment:
    ———————————–
As the official promoter which holds rights to Rain’s Coming 06/07 Rain World Tour US concerts, we apologies for the concert postponements brought about by the ‘Rain’ lawsuit, and takes responsibility for not taking preventive measures before this issue happened.”

We’re sorry to the local organizers, including the Hawaiian organizer, who suffered direct and indirect losses due to this issue. At present, Revolution Entertainment is seeking solutions to the losses inflicted on local organizers due to the postponement, and is in negotiation on closing this issue amicably.

Revolution Entertainment takes responsibility for this issue, and has sent representatives to the relevant areas to understand the present situation, and is trying our best on looking for a solution.

The concert tour which is greatly anticipated by the local and overseas media and fans has met with difficulties due to issues outside our control. However, Revolution Entertainment will work in hand with Star M, which holds the original rights to this concert tour, to find an acceptable solution in the quickest time possible.

We’re deeply apologetic for the damage in reputation this has brought to the artiste, Rain, and we are sorry for the disappointment caused to all parties involved, as well as fans and all who love Rain.

    Thank you.

rain is definitely not the business man material

  42. 42 bibi June 24, 2007 at 5:59 pm

    what? he left JYP??? NO!!!

  43. 43 anon June 24, 2007 at 11:03 pm

the name thing is bull crap, we all know that the real reason the concerts were post poned were beacsue of bad ticket sales

a friend of mine was going to one of the concerts that was post-poned, and she said the sales were really really bad

  44. 44 mingzhu June 25, 2007 at 9:08 am

Oh my.. so much for the pendulum that came to a slowdown. It’s too bad this happened to Rain during his US debut. I have to agree though, Rain is big in Asia but not so many people know him in the States. They pushed him in the market with too much confidence and then, backed out when things were going down.

It’s a disappointment really. Rain should have never left JYP. And bouncing check ticket refunds, wtf.. this is so not going to leave a good impression on Korean stars who are as ambitious to be going ‘worldwide’..

  45. 45 ed June 25, 2007 at 10:46 am

didn’t he leave a string of canceled gigs in shanghai, vietnam, and god knows where else? it was in the chinese news the cancellation was 3rd in a series or something. same problems: booked venues larger than he could fill, fans couldn’t afford tickets because of local standards of living, etc.

  46. 46 sexychikita June 25, 2007 at 2:06 pm

    happy birthday rain!

  47. 47 saranghaeyo June 25, 2007 at 10:55 pm

Hey peeps, what do u expect Rain to do huh?…There are certain things which an artiste has no control over…u think he wants this to happen?…Use ur brains…There are a whole bunch of peeps behind and around him…who as promoters, managers, investors, industry peeps who are also looking after their own interests…Rain IS their money-making star, in a sense. Biz politics play a part too…So when each is trying to defend their own interest, who is the victim here?…Think harder.

  48. 48 bifan June 26, 2007 at 12:17 am

yui, no refund for canceled SF-concert too? That stinks!
The problem is why they wanna make so many US concerts without debut in the USA? I love Rains music and I am one of the white fans. Crazy fans - not only asian fans - made him Top 1 with non-stop voting by the Time 100-voting. But this means not that a lot of other people will buy tickets for a most unknown artist. It´s normal to make first the debut and then the concerts. Here is a lot of talent. Great voice, great dancer. But I hate the gayish outfits and the riping of the T-shirt.He wants to break into the US-musicmarket as a singer, not as a stripper or a member of the California Dreamboys.

  49. 49 Mary3lucky June 26, 2007 at 12:49 am

    Hey guyz!
I think Sarangaeyo is right,Rain is not the only one to put blame of everything’s happened.Lot’s of people around him making decisions for his concerts.Yeah! Rain’s mistakes,he gave his fully trusts,to other people to handle everythings bout his concerts…In his position right now, lots of people biting back against him, trying to put him down, saying bad things against him…If possible let’s give him a break and leave him a while to think and to fix all the damages..
Putting down one’s reputation,is not easy to an artist, but Rain’s need to try harder to handle this kind of problem he has now…Being in a Hollywood circle, is not easy as in a local(Korea,or other asian countries). He must have a proper sheild or if not they can destroy you easily….Let us stop putting blame in him, every person deserves a second chance.Always remember,we’re just a human it can make a mistakes that sometimes can hurt other peoples heart…

  50. 50 Sue June 26, 2007 at 1:00 am

    saranghaeyo -

People expect him to watch who he let’s do his business. Like with any other artist, if somebody is handling them, they make sure they do what they are suppose to do.
Like people have said, Rain was too busy trying to conquer the world and not paying attention to his US debut. The debut that he supposedly been waiting on forever.

    Use your brain.
An Artist has control over everything. THEY ARE THE TALENT!
Without the artist there is nothing.
It seem clear that Rain sits back and plays no part in the decision that are made for him. That’s stupid on his part.

  51. 51 vicki June 26, 2007 at 12:09 pm

we still love you to death

  52. 52 Shai June 26, 2007 at 4:41 pm

An artist has complete control over everything? Pshh. Why would they need an agency then if they can do whatever they want? Check your info first before you comment.

  53. 53 dan June 26, 2007 at 5:32 pm

    wait what???
    rain left jyp?? since when??

  54. 54 Sue June 26, 2007 at 5:57 pm

Would an agency even exist without a artist?
The Artist at the end of the day is the one in charge of who he hires to mange him or her.
RAIN HIRED THESE PEOPLE TO MANAGE HIM!!
Get over it. Stupid decision on his half and now his reputation is tarnish because of who he HIRED to control his image.

Fan girls seriously will battle to the grave on a weak point to defend their idol sometimes.

  55. 55 GWen June 26, 2007 at 7:22 pm

We love Rain eitherway or anything dude he is having a lot of problems now you will all get your money back, I mean I know its hard to wait for 300 dollars or something like that but you will get them back I am sure of it, right now he had that law suit and now the movie and now the refuns and another law suit give the guy some time! it isnt him who is talking long but Star M so please CALM DOWN!

  56. 56 yui June 27, 2007 at 9:22 am

how about you calm down gwen, i think you’re jys another one of those die-hard rain fans that down want to admit that he and his comapny fucked up

  57. 57 becca June 27, 2007 at 2:12 pm

Wow! I think some of you are way to upset about this. First of all, why are you so upset about not getting your money? Did you think you would get back the $300 you spent after the concert? No, then why don’t you just wait for a refund. I wanted to go to the LA concert but once I saw how expensive they were I knew I couldn’t afford it. So if you could, stop your complaining!
You all blame Rain like he had complete knowledge and control over ever single detail that happened. Obviously you have been living under a rock or something. Muscians and celebrities have hundreds of people and companies working on hundreds of different things at once. That is why they are there, becuase Rain can’t put a whole concert/tour on by himself. If they did cancel the concerts because of tickets sale. So what. The guy has to make money to continue to work.
Clearly, you are not Rain fans if you are so eager to blame everything on him. If you knew anything about him at all you would know that he probably is as upset or more to have those concerts cancelled and disappointed that his REAL fans had to go through this.
Also, what is with the stupid comments about the poll. Seriously, that’s the best input you have. The poll was rigged, so what. Why do you care? Have you never seen other celebrities websites before. They put every tiny achievement on there, they ALL do that. Plus, for a Korean musician that is a big deal. The US is a really difficult industry to get into, especially for Asians. If people like you guys were not so close minded maybe we could have Rain or other musicians make it in the US.
Last but not least, what is so wrong with Koreans having pride anyway. I don’t see them on here blaming the stupid Americans for messing up the Rain concerts. So keep your uneducated racist comments to yourself if that is all you have to say.

  58. 58 saranghaeyo June 27, 2007 at 9:51 pm

My reply to those who replied to my comments: An artiste has NO total, complete control over everything. Yes he or she may have the talent, but to break into the industry, to succeed in it and to maintain that position…he or she needs others to help him. At times, he or she has to do things against better judgement for the sake of those who have invested interests. U think there are free lunches in the world? Perhaps; but rarely.

  59. 59 rei June 27, 2007 at 10:40 pm

i totally agree with becca!Y wldn’t u Americans blame ur own fellow celebrities wen they make stupid mistakes 2?Asians r alwaes the negative target n made such a big deal abt it.We asians do admire american entertainment industry but cnt u ppl just see what we asians r tryin 2 do 2?

  60. 60 AMI June 27, 2007 at 10:46 pm

And again because Rain fans just don’t seem to get it.
He chose to surround himself with incompetent people and just like the President he should burn with them. He’s an artist not a 5 year old. THIS WAS HIS US DEBUT! He should have been right there checking to make sure everything was on track, instead he was everywhere but the US.

And WTF at people should just stfu & wait to get their own money back? Are you stupid?
THE CONCERT WAS CANCELED. It’s like paying for a meal and never receiving it. They should have got there money back as soon as word was in that the cancel was concert. Wait my a**. Most stupid ish I’ve ever heard.

And again, No one is blaming him for everything. I have nothing against Rain, but I’m sure as hell am not going to sit hear and pat him on the back “awww, i feel so sorry for him”. He let a bum company handle his reputation. THAT’S HIS FAULT.

And please have fun. I don’t care how many Americans you call stupid. Almost every company who handle the tour was Korean Based though, so point the finger in the right place first. Having pride is one thing, but being completely freakin oblivious to the world around you & trying to make something/someone out to be more than it/they are is crazy. I’ll say it myself again. Korean fans are absolutely crazy and every damn body knows it.

The whole concert was crapped together from the start. Click - the promoting companying in Hawaii paid more than 500,000 to Star M only to have them a month before the concert say the stadium was inadequate. Get the hell out of here. How many concerts has Aloha stadium had before Rain’s tour & everything was always fine. Janet, U2, etc. No complaints. Star M won’t even return the money the Hawaiian promoter sent them to help THEM promote their artist - Rain. WTH? Now how does that sound? Like a scam

I’m not aware if you know but every concert excluding LA that was planned had been canceled “indefinitely”. WHY? The name suit is over. He can use his name. I mean that was the excuse for canceling wasn’t it? Now what’s the excuse?

Once again because some die-hards just don’t get it. Surround your with incompetent people and this is what happens. Star M = incompetent Revolution = incompetent. And yet these are the people Rain chose to let handle his image? Nice

Rei - Americans blame American celebrities for EVERYTHING.

Please check out any gossip blog/magazine and you will see that.
I mean look at Paris Hilton.
We build her up to tear her down . Just like we do with any other celebrity.
No one is beyond that and no one denies it either.

Please note: the world is not against Asians.
It’s not that people don’t understand that Koreans just want people to love & appreciate their stars as much as they do, but sometime the push is just too much & has far too many expectations. You can’t force the world to embrace someone/something. You put it out there, recommend and see what happens.

People complain about the Time poll. And it’s not a serious as some make it out to be, but it’s a Popular world magazine poll which means it should have been equally voted on by everyone. But once again it was like someone trying to force something down everybody’s throat. This would not have been a problem if other Rain fans helped. I know he has fans in Europe, North America, South America. But no one can honestly say without lying that more than 20% of those votes came from outside of Asia. If it was a Time Most influential Korean poll that would be understandable but it wasn’t.

    i 100% agree with AMI and Katie.D

  63. 63 s.jane June 28, 2007 at 6:16 pm

i was supposed to go this concert because i actually LIVE in hawaii. sucks that its not gonna happen. i dont care about the refund i just wanna see him. haha.

  64. 64 daisy June 29, 2007 at 7:17 am

well, i agree with everyone here. LOL. i’m going to the LA concert, either way. i hope everything pans out soon. if these concerts (sf, hawaii, etc) doesn’t re-schedule then we’ll all know the “real” reason. they can’t cover it up. things will come out eventually. i feel bad for those fans that bought tickets to those cancelled locations. i know LA and NYC has a big korean community. i was pretty shocked that he had some many venues in the first place. before announcing these concert locations, they need to promote muchmuch more! good luck to him. sadly his bday wasn’t as memorable as his previous.

  65. 65 victor June 29, 2007 at 2:33 pm

When your name is on the line, you should surround yourself with good people. If not, you should take responsibility. It is YOUR name or in this case, BI’s name.

So, things went wrong. Okay, things went wrong all the time. It’s what you do after things go wrong that sets some people apart from another.

I haven’t heard one word from Bi himself. Communication was terrible. It’s HIS name. HE should come out and say something instead of staying in hiding and letting the incompetent people he surrounds himself take care of it.

    His silence is deafening.

  66. 66 dan June 30, 2007 at 6:59 am

so uhh.. did he leave jyp??

  67. 67 Kahuna July 1, 2007 at 12:49 pm

Just heard that Bi’s LA Concert was cancelled 2 hours before
it was to start. How bs is that.

  68. 68 AMI July 1, 2007 at 12:57 pm

    OMG. He canceled again.
Do fans believe now that something is shady.
It’s also been reported that Rain/Management complained about stage problems AGAIN.
    WTF? BS.

I’m not even going to sit here and rub it in.

  69. 69 buytheredcar July 1, 2007 at 1:28 pm

I wonder how many tickets were sold for the Staples Center show?
Every time I see an Asian singer or band, I just think of “poser”.
They just copy all the Western singers/groups but they are 10 years late
    Rain sucks so bad

  70. 70 i_see_dead_pickles July 1, 2007 at 1:33 pm

The whole lawsuit thing was an excuse. Clearly, the shows were cancelled due to low ticket sales.
Ticket sales and venue are a true indication of how popular
    an artist is.
The Nevada Court gace “Rain” permission to use the name. Since that excuse didnt pan out, they had to use the “not enough time to set up their equipment” blah blah blah.
Arent they in the concert business??
Madonna didnt have trouble setting up a stadium tour in Europe…
Opps, Madonna is actually a worldwide star. Rain is more
of a regional “star” I guess.

people need to chill out and stop blaming rain for everything. just try to be in HIS place and understand what he’s going through. i’m not korean .. but i saw this “korea has to much national pride” so what? is it bad to have pride for your country? please.

  72. 72 anonymous July 1, 2007 at 4:56 pm

  74. 74 Ranti July 2, 2007 at 8:46 pm

Just wondering why is it gone bad when he was in US ?? Why so many troubles happen continuosly in US?? While postpponement in Bangkok seemed to be handled and ended well. Starting from the legal problem for using name RAIN .. while US so famous with democracy and all good principles things ? What happen actually behind all this cancelations and all troubles he face. I still think some parties against him to gain another success .. and want him fall like what happen now. Just be strong Rain ..

  75. 75 Ranti July 3, 2007 at 2:08 pm

Concert in Asia had gone fine .. why in US he had many troubles.. is it because he won polling in Time magazine though he was not in the list ?? Or is it because Cho the murderer .. who happened to be south korean that brought some sentiments to korean artist .. while many lunatic n crazy people is from every part of the world including US itself.. so dont blame the nation.. or just only cause of some envious people who is not please to see him gain success in US Entertainment industry. But what so great anyway to be famous in US Rain..

Just something fishy for what happen in US that Rain had to face

  76. 76 ^_^ July 5, 2007 at 5:48 am

check your information. I agree that his company was really disorganized about the concert. Were you guys not even awared of the fact that there was a GAME at the Staples Stadium the night BEFORE the concert? It takes at least 3 DAYS to set up his stage. They had 18 hours to put the gig together and then the city fire officers showed up and disapproved some of the equipment due to “safety” reasonings. But question is why didn’t anyone catch this beforehand and why was it only discovered at the LAST MINUTE? Another thing, why would you hire a management company if you can handle EVERYTHING? Thus, the blame can be on the company and not Rain.
For those of you who keeps crying over Rain’s leaving JYP entertainment, stfu. Don’t you know that his mentor, Park Jin-young, has LEFT JYP entertainment too? why would he stay behind when his mentor isn’t even there anymore? Park Jin Young is now in New York setting up HIS own company in the U.S.

  77. 77 dkfgyriut July 5, 2007 at 10:12 am

^_^ is just anither dumbass rain fan, get a life, i bet shes gonna go crazy now and respond, well have fun with that, guess what were not bashing rain, wewre just saying he messed up

  78. 78 Ranti July 5, 2007 at 9:09 pm

Now he is regarding as shame of the nation in Korea just because of this accident in US …and again only happen in US… and not happen in other countries.. how come … it is too much .. when he fall, the korean dumped him ?? While when he gain many successes in old days he simply regarded as korean icon .. what crime did he does compare to Cho Seung Hui.. Cho who supposed to get the title for “shame the nation” not him .. and now many korean think he sucks .. well rain u’d better change your citizenship if Korea dump u and regard u as the shame of nation ..

  79. 79 G July 6, 2007 at 4:22 pm

Well all americans like to do is to complaint… WTF? Can’t u all simply keep ur mouth shut. Let the problem resolve by itself. It’s actually not our fault either why b so emotional about it?

  80. 80 erilg July 8, 2007 at 6:00 am

get over yourself g, over half the people on this site, myself included, are korean

  81. 81 Kat July 12, 2007 at 7:05 am

Sucks that all his US concerts were cancelled. I agree it makes hime look bad. It wasn’t his fault but people will attribute it to him anyway. It’ll definitely hurt his US debut. Although, with good PR, he may be able to make a splash in a year or 2 with a lot better planning (also needs more collaborations with US artists so he gets into mainstreem attention).

  82. 82 lala July 14, 2007 at 1:21 pm

you people, who didnt buy the tickets and were told that the expected and long waited concert is cancelled, WILL DEFINITELY NOT know the feeling of frustration… i ordered VIP toroto tickets only to find out that it was cancelled.. i mean wtf i was soo looking forward to it.. and i even feel more pity for those in US who book themselves a hotel and even spent travelling expenses only to get refunded by the tickets they bought.. that wasn’t even worth of a refund… just look at the time and effort all these people spent that have gone wasted just to see his “cancelled” concert…

  83. 83 kjh July 30, 2007 at 10:23 am
