I may have made a stereotypical “generalization”. but from the trend of things, it does seem as if celebs, even ordinary people in Korea, are resorting to plastic surgery. I am not saying that every pretty Korean girl has had plastic surgery. But i am just saddened that a lot of girls are not comfortable with the looks God gave them.
I can’t speak to the plastic surgery (possibly the nose, but then she and her brother have the same nose), but she’s totally copping the ulzzang look. And part of the ulzzang look is wearing circle contacts. She has naturally large eyes, but her iris are disproportionately large. Circle lenses give you that, and then you look like a doll. Both Han Ga-in and Kim Jung Eun are said to wear them as well.
I don’t think she went under the knife, I mean have you seen their parents? They were freaking gorgous when they were younger 0__0 and I def. don’t think plastic surgury was around during their youth, and if it was, I don’t think it would have been that common.
Plastic surgury is not as common in Korea as people think it is. It is “routinly” in Seoul, but honestly, it is not as common as how it is precedented. It is just that Seoul is so well developed and so many mind-blowing projects and electronics are coming out of that place that the only negative attention that reporters can find is the “beauty obsession”. So they focus on that one detail and create off of it. People compare it to braces in the states; no one cares if you’ve done it. Well, “fans” in the states don’t get hyped on a celeb for getting braces as opposed to the netizens destroying a homepage with negative comments if celebs in Korea become more “refined”. I just don’t get how those two completely diffrent reaction-garnering subjects can be justified enough as to actually be compared. PS is blown out of proportion by the media. Don’t get caught up it in, don’t be too influenced.

Funny how they all go for surgery “for beauty purposes” but rarely do any of them actually come out of it beautiful. Even my favorite Korean actress, Jeon Do-yeon has clearly had work done on her eyes but she doesn’t look “plastic fantastic”. She looks beautiful. Only rare people know how to just get a little nip and tuck without going to far or over-doing it. God help the ones who go for repeat surgeries (actress from My Girl, I’m pointing at you).
Ultimately, I suspect the tide is going to turn in any case. Mark my word on this. Give Korea 10-20 years and eye surgery will be a trend of the past, Koreans will be “connecting to their roots”, it will become “cool” to look traditionally Korean, and all these women who had eye/nose/chin/cheek/lip surgeries will be the scorn.
Her eyes should be a little smaller in order for her to look beautiful. Really, its a bit freakish looking at such saucer-sized eyes. I can believe that the rest of her face is real, just not her eyes. It has been mentioned in an article that as you grow older, your nose and the rest of your features will grow bigger but the size of your eyes will never change in proportion to your face. I’ve had really big eyes when I was young and still have big eyes now, just nothing quite as oversized as hers’.
The only picture her eyes look big (and probably the only one where you see her eyes up close) is the one with the eyeliner and hood. But yes, eyeliner do great wonders. But when taking pictures, looking up, or deliberately widening your eyes to make ‘em look bigger are also several ways to make your eyes look bigger.
And I must say, that it is very ^%#*%@#! annoying, that for someone who happens to have good features is already stamped ‘plastic’. Maybe she did, maybe she didnt. But seriously, in order for someone to really state something like that as a fact, bring in the full proof- not just what you ‘think’ or overly ‘believe’ to be true.

It’s a terrible trend in Korea. Nearly 1 in 10 Korean adults have had cosmetic surgery. All in a attempt to look European. Enlarge the eyes, shrink the face, shrink the nose, shrink the cheekbones. That’s what’s truly pathetic.

first of all, her eyes are most likely normal sized compared to most peoples’ eyes. one only perceives that they are big due to her small face size. having a small face generally does make your eyes look a whole lot bigger compared to someone who has the exact same sized eyes but a wide or long face.
also, you can make your eyes appear larger by manipulating the camera angle or by face positioning. basically all you have to do is position the camera from above your face OR you can position the camera in front of your face but tilt your chin down a bit, hence making your face appear smaller and shorter in length giving the illusion of big eyes.
another alternative is to wear circle lenses which are pretty wide in diameter, giving the false illusion of having bigger irises. by having bigger looking irises, you can also widen your eyes (more than you could without the lenses on) without appearing like you’re surprised or scared since the sclera (white part of eye) isn’t showing above your iris.
oh yeah and have you heard of something called makeup? eyeliner perhaps? mascara? not to mention the fact that she has double eyelids too..
it’s most likely that all the above apply to these pictures/her, so to all you people who keep pondering over why her eyes look so incredibly big..now you know. the two top pictures and the middle right pic, she took herself and it’s most probable that the remaining photos were taken professionally. obviously, they’re not candid pictures.
in the case that you did see a candid shot, you’d probably think..hey my eyes are just as big as hers or they’re only a little bigger than my eyes.

as for bering fake, maybe she is! but i think it’s better to be a little fake but pretty than completely natural but just ugly. i mean, if it is important to you to stay natural or not use photoshop, than of course more power to you. but i think it’s important to try and improve your appearance if you can. also, a lot of people get plastic surgery and whatnot but they still look ugly. you need to be fairly pretty in the first place in order for surgery and whatnot to have a real effect and end up looking REALLY pretty.
