Will Rain be the voice of 2008 Beijing Olympics?

Rain_20080107.2_popseoul

Rain has been asked by the Beijing Olympic Committee to sing the theme song for the 2008 Olympics and many are wondering if the dancing machine will agree since all discussions has been kept under wraps.

Rain will probably sing for the Beijing Olympics in Chinese because he endorses anything that pays, even if he has to get up close and personal with the businessmen involved.

    CHINA PRIDE!!!???
Korean pride is at risk here!!!

  2. 2 Omo January 8, 2008 at 6:00 am

As much as a drool over Rain, I hope they consider Jay Chou. Jay is super talented, smart and HOT.

  3. 3 Meru January 8, 2008 at 6:11 am

Yes, China pride. It’s about the event representing the country, and putting that sunglasses wearing fool imitating if not slaughtering the Chinese language will end it all.

  4. 4 aquarious January 8, 2008 at 6:14 am

I don’t get why people are hating here for accepting the offer.ridiculous.
Rain didn’t ask for this offer to sing… He was chosen/requested to sing.
Who will reject this kind of offer? Whoever has got this request…. it’s highly likely to accept it.

If you wanna hate, then hate your authority. It’s nothing to do with Rain. He just accepted the offer as honour. Simple as that.

If I think from Authority side, I think it’s all about business and promotion to use his porpularity. just my pure opinion. I might be wrong.

Let me tell you. If he rejected that offer becuz of the reason “he’s korean, that’s why can’t sing at China Olympic”, believe me… people will throw their tantrum and accuse him as arrogant, racist… etc.

Well, Rain! you can never win, can you?

    @ spamstereeno

That’s really racist. Are you trying to say that all Asian people look alike?

  7. 7 Dumpling January 8, 2008 at 6:40 am

He’s cute and a good actor. It’s just too bad he’s a fraud in every other aspect of his existence.

  8. 8 soju January 8, 2008 at 6:51 am

wake up, aquarious. if he had a clue or even common sense, drizzle would have turned this one down. he is not respecting the chinese entertainment industry with this latest move of his. what’s he gonna do? sing in chinese and butcher the language for the world to see? or sing in korean which totally doesn’t make any sense being that this is beijing’s stage? in any case, this is bound to upset the chinese entertainment industry who has some great talents in itself.

every step he’s making since he left jyp is one mistake after another. he really is circling the dRAIN.

  9. 9 eek January 8, 2008 at 7:29 am

    this is absolutely absurd.
did all the chinese people on this planet go poof or something? why let a korean singer sing the opening theme during the olympics?

  10. 10 eek January 8, 2008 at 7:30 am

and it’s not like his voice is amazing or anything. I DONT UNDERSTAND.

  11. 11 Spamstereeno January 8, 2008 at 7:41 am

    @ kylie

it’s not racist. It’s a well-known fact that you cannot tell Asians apart. You can’t tell a japanese from a chinese or a chinese from a korean. Rain is the only asian singer that sounds decent, and the chinese people know it or else why would they ask him?

  12. 12 peepoo January 8, 2008 at 8:11 am

“It’s a well-known fact that you cannot tell Asians apart. You can’t tell a japanese from a chinese or a chinese from a korean.”

i would be more offended by this comment if not for the fact that my asian mother thinks all WHITIES and BLACKS look alike! so i guess it’s even…….

  13. 13 Cyan January 8, 2008 at 8:11 am

@Spamstereeno: There are plenty of Asian singers that are better than Rain. MUCH BETTER than Rain.

  14. 14 peepoo January 8, 2008 at 8:22 am

“There are plenty of Asian singers that are better than Rain. MUCH BETTER than Rain.”

yeah, dude…does anyone remember Andy Lau or Aaron Kwok? or are they like before ya’lls time??? cuz man my older sister loves them and use to listen to them ALL the time!

  15. 15 Me January 8, 2008 at 9:01 am

I support Rain singing the opening for the Olympic. There’s nothing wrong with a Korean singing the themesong just because the Olympic is held in China. Those of you who are objecting it are probably Chinese.

  16. 16 HATEJJH January 8, 2008 at 9:04 am

    LMAO… HAHAHA

I’m thinking this is an evil scheme of N Korea to talk the Chinese into doing this, knowing dRain will stupidly agree, and started WW3 btn 2 used to be friendly countries of China and S Korea. Chinese will just swarm up S Korea in their anger , N Korea and just sit back and enjoy dRain’s show! LOL

  17. 17 Di January 8, 2008 at 9:10 am

    Ha don’t make me laugh!
    Oh, too late. o.o

  18. 18 sena January 8, 2008 at 9:17 am

it only makes common sense to invite a singer who is chinese to an event held by them. just like it wouldn’t make sense if a chinese performer was invited when they hosted the olympics.

  19. 19 sena January 8, 2008 at 9:18 am

edit: just like it wouldn’t make sense if a chinese performer was invited to perform in korea when they hosted the olympics.

  21. 21 chiaye January 8, 2008 at 9:43 am

meh~ I have nothing against Bi, but i think that it’s great for him to sing for the beijing olympics. We know Hankyung is representing in it also and now its Bi participating in the event too. <33

  22. 22 BKJSuh January 8, 2008 at 10:07 am

This is good news for him. Nice job Rain!

  23. 23 =_= January 8, 2008 at 10:48 am

What the hell are the people thinking?!?! bi eww. He’s not even Chinese. They should chose a Chinese person after all the Olympics is holding in Beijing. -____-

  26. 26 not true January 8, 2008 at 12:16 pm

This is false news. Bi does not deserve to sing the theme song. Those who said it doesn’t matter for Bi to sing is a freaking moron.

There is no news about Rain singing the theme song in the official olympics site. They just released a theme song in August. It was sung by many Chinese artists. Stop making up news, Rain’s fans! Show me where does it say that Rain will be singing the Beijing 2008 Olympics themesong in the official olympics site???

  27. 27 Cyan January 8, 2008 at 12:32 pm

KBS World released the acceptance news.

  28. 28 noway January 8, 2008 at 12:41 pm

Pleeease let this be a rumour. I mean Bi is alright and everything but if they want him to perform in the Beijing Olympics then they should get him to dance or something. To be honest his singing isn’t too good, Jay Chou sings way better. Bi singing in chinese will give a bad impression to the world, because as some people say they can’t tell Koreans and Chinese apart.

  29. 29 234 January 8, 2008 at 1:44 pm

^ Though Jay Chou sings somewhat better than Bi, he has a tendency to mumble. I love him all the same though ^^

i give a rat’s a$$ what you think of me. being dissed by a blind cloud doesn’t amount to anything. maybe one day you will see the light and wake up from your delusional world.

  31. 31 XiaoXi January 8, 2008 at 4:04 pm

How I love Jay Chou and slobber for Wang Leehom–but they’re both Taiwanese, and I just can’t see China going that direction.

I’m hoping Andy Lau gets the nod. Yeah, he’s old school, but he sings o.k. and he is vanilla enough to please all ages. Plus he is pretty easy on the eyes…

    :-)

So what’s the starting line of the song? “I’m so excited that I’ve been invited to sing at this great occasion?” lol.

He can’t sing in Chinese. He sang the song for the Pantech ad – it was bad from the first line. He sounds bad singing in English and Chinese. Rain, please stick to Korean.

Latest news is that J Tune has clarified that he has NOT received an invitation to sing for the 2008 Olympics.

  35. 36 Spamstereeno January 9, 2008 at 2:33 am

    @ peepoo
Yeah, you’re damn right niggers DO all look alike, but when have you ever heard someone say all WHITE people look alike? Never, because only angry chinks and niggers say that to get back at us….maybe your mothers eyes are too chinky to be able to see and tell the differece. Don’t be mad at me. You started it

    @ Cyan
If there were “better” Chinese singers that sound better than Rain’s mediocre ass, OBVIOUSLY the Chinese don’t think so or else they wouldn’t have considered him….Call it self hate, I guess….Asian people can’t sing. The men sound whiny and the girls all sound like squeaky chipmunks. The ONLY reason Rain is passable for the REST of the world is because he sounds more black, and you know asians LOVE to act like niggers/thugs with their wannabe rap music and ghetto clothes. They know Rain will appeal to Westerners and you know that asians secretly (or maybe not so secretly, considering all the plastic surgery) want to be white and please us anyway (read a history book), so why not consider a singer who is presentable to a Western audience?

if you “won’t waste 1 second to the one i don’t like anymore” then why did you respond? seems that you are in love with me, but you know what? i don’t swing that way. i’m a girl who likes guys, not blind clouds.

  37. 38 Meru January 9, 2008 at 7:30 am

Spamstereeno, OBVIOUSLY you’re just an obnoxious white supremacist. Perhaps you’re threatened by the talents and looks of the other races. Call it a lack of intelligence and upbringing among many other defects in your brain, I guess. Look for a race war somewhere else, yea? I’m sure there’s a neo-Nazi meeting somewhere waiting for you with open arms.

  38. 39 tony January 9, 2008 at 9:52 am

    @soju
i never tried to like you or know you . you are nobody to me . what i want to say i spend my time to reply for rain , not you . i like rain so i spend time on him but if you don’t like him anymore why you still spend so much time for him (clear). i won’t in love or
like a person who like to insult or teasing people for their happiness (same as you ) i’m a girl and i just in love with man .
once again , if you don’t care my thoughts then why did you respond .

  39. 40 noway January 9, 2008 at 1:28 pm

    @Spamstereeno

Why are you being so racist to Asians? There’s nothing wwrong with them, and for your information not all asians have those kind of eyes. What do you mean asian people can’t sing. I doubt you can sing any better than. Why pin something on a whole race of billions of people. Also if you haven’t noticed we come from the same place, namely THE EARTH

  40. 41 chiaye January 10, 2008 at 3:49 am

@ cinderella, i know that he’s chinese. When i read the article I wasn’t thinking about other chinese artists. I just thought solely of rain himself being chosen for this event. I thought that was an honor for him to receive such a thing from whoever is the representative of the event. I was thinking how hankyung was first chosen to hold the torch now another korean singer is being elected(?) for the event. I never thought of the “korean vs chinese” situation.

  41. 42 aquarious January 10, 2008 at 11:04 am

China is to host Olympic… China doesn’t own it.

    Anyway… Whateveh…

  42. 43 elle January 10, 2008 at 2:47 pm

    @ Spamstereeno,

Your disdain for African Americans and Asians is quite funny. If you don’t like us so much, than why post on this forum? Why not go to a forumn for like-minded pigs? I’m pretty sure there is a forumn made JUST for white people like you. :) Do you need attention? It seems like I see your hateful comments in almost every blog…It’s really pathetic…

  43. 45 Spamstereeno January 12, 2008 at 2:15 am

    @ noway
Well, I guess you’ll never know if I can sing, now will you? lol what a LAME thing to say! Who cares if we all come from earth? Unless alien invaders or some sh*t attacks the earth, who gives a damn that we are all from the same planet???? You’re so lame…

    @ elle
Since you called me a pig, I guess that means I can call you names…So what are you? A chink or a nigger? How can you defend both? Where’s YOUR pride to your own race? If you’re black, then you should know asians hate you, but secretly want to be you (of course not as much as they want to be white though, lol) and if you’re asian, then you should know blacks don’t like you! lol maybe its because you copy their precious rap music! lol
If you find my posts so “pathetic” then don’t pay attention to them…but the truth hurts, I know….so you don’t know how to take the critisism…

    @ Meru

I’m not a nazi… lol I don’t like white on white crime LOL! I’m not looking to start a race war. I have my opinions and you have yours. And remember, YOU started the name calling not me :)

  44. 46 Meru January 12, 2008 at 10:38 am

^Lol, who was the hypocrite that was going “chink this n-gger that”? Apparently, you’re so dense that you don’t know what a white supremacist/neo-Nazi is either, so before you attempt to make a rebuttal to my and other people’s comments, look up some words on the dictionary, yea? Your narrow minded opinions only proved to everyone that you’re a pitiful failure of a human being. And remember, I don’t need to insult your race or any other race to make my point.

  45. 47 elle January 12, 2008 at 2:16 pm

    @ spamstereeno

You were name-calling before I called you a pig, so don’t use that as an excuse; not that people need an excuse to be ignorant these days. I don’t identify with racial slurs, so I will say that I am neither a ch*nk nor a n*gger. I will not classify myself in either of those demeaning categories. Had you asked me if I was Asian or African American, I might have answered THAT question. I can have pride in myself and my race without bashing another’s. That is one of the many ways that you and I differ: I don’t need to disrespect someone else’s culture and race to validate my own. I have never ran into any Black people that hate Asians, and I have never ran into any Asians that hate Black people. Not to say that their aren’t any Asian bigots or Black bigots (like yourself), but I run across more racist White people than racist people of color. And how can one NOT pay attention to your comments? They are so outlandish! It surprises me how there are still people in the year 2008 that think like you…

  46. 48 noway January 17, 2008 at 4:52 pm

    @Spamstereeno
If I think like you then i really would be lame.
