Finally, the real battle begins.
Dong-bang-shin-ki (동방신기) and Big Bang (빅뱅) will duke it out on stage at the 2008 Mnet KM Music Festival for the best boy group on November 15th.
Other acts set to compete at the MKMF are 2PM vs SHINee for the New Group Award. There will be 30 music battles in various categories.

TALENT
Both group got talent. They BOTH compose music but in different genres. And about the VOCAL part, you’re wrong if you think Big Bang has better vocal compared to DBSK. They’re better at RAPPING, but not vocal. I honestly think that only Tae Yang and Dae Sung are the ones that can sing in Big Bang. Of course, compared to Junsu, Changmin, Jaejoong or Yoochun, Tae Yang and Dae Sung are an inch below. But I also think Yunho and Yoochun’s rapping are nothing compared to TOP and G.Dragon.
LOOKS
DBSK doesn’t have a large fanbase just because of their looks. ^^;; I personally wouldn’t want to like a vocal group with no vocal talent. And DBSK obviously have vocal talent. Furthermore, DBSK have a lot of FANBOYS (and no, they’re not gay. I know some of them and they’re as straight as my ruler). Why would fanboys like them for looks?
Oh btw, I personally think that Big Bang boys are very good-looking too. TOP~<3

I agreed with you. Both groups has the fanatic fans. But @BIGBANG who wrote mean things like 4 years should take them off, was very rude and disrespect to the artists. Musican can get older and fans based can grew lesser but music and musican still can live and they will until they died.
and to some Dbsk’s fans who are disrespect too, please respect other artists too.
Personally, people who dislike or jeoulous of Dbsk will say they will win no matter what is ignorant and dissrespect since they wouldn’t recognize DBSK real talent AND great vocal ability.
The same goes with fanatic DBSK’s fans whom didnt want to acknowledge other artists too has some talent that should be recognized. But I think most DBSK fans that I knew actually love others groups too i.e my sister BUT they still no group that can created aura and phenomenal like DBSK did. They are far better in vocal ability and composing songs.
Irony enough, I always didn’t satisfied with DBSK. I.e, their album cover, looks or fashion style or album’s title. But they keep evolving and improving. They like a group that has been created by an evil company but surely enough
they are born to be musican and very talented. Not perfect but evolving.
People didn’t prefer their music is based on their own view, but people who didnt want to acknowledge their talents is an ignorant one.

first of all, my vote will go to DBSK.
second, i’m not going to compare both groups because of their popularity, style, looks or whatever.
my vote was all based on overall musicality of their albums (and yes i listened to both Big Bang’s and DBSK’s latest albums so you guys can’t accuse me of being biased)
DBSK and BIGBANG fans should at least first listen to each other’s music before bashing.
I must say, it was really hard to pick between the two because of the difference in genre. But what made me choose DBSK is because they were able pull off various genres in one album. And it’s definitely different from their previous album, “O”, a sign of maturity in style.
BigBang’s album was top notch too! And it’s hard to keep them off my head! They also had a variety of genres but it lacks a little note in harmony. But i greatly appreciate their hardwork on this one. They definitely took one big step higher compared their previous albums.

hmmmm, there’s no need of bashing here. May the BEST winner wins, but we all know THEY’RE ALL WINNERS. :] Plus, dbsk and big bang get along, so I’m pretty sure they will be happy whoever wins.
anyway after this Awards show is over, I really just want to look forward to a super cool performance by big bang like the last MKMF… I agree with what one of the stars said…people who pick at fandom should be embarrased at themselves… you want to say something just say the group that your supporting… these people are working so hard, to give you good songs, not to have a war between fans, if you guys just all get along, maybe both groups can start learning from each other.
at the end of the day you want your individual groups that your supporting to last as long as possible right and not break up.. like all boy bands.. even if they do.. lets just all get on with our life and just enjoy the music they make…

It’s about time people stop using large fanbase as a reason. DBSK won their fans through their hardwork plus their extra singing abilities. They wouldn’t obtain a lot of fans based on looks alone (reason why they venture to japan in the first place). Of course people have different taste in music, but DBSK delivered despite that.
Yes, DBSK got in the music industry first and Big Bang is collecting more fans. Nonetheless they’re both talented but puleaaase for the love of god, fanbase is gained through hardwork and abilities (goodlooks are second).
300,000 pre-orders were not only from korea, they’re taken internationally, because DBSK is getting more exposed everyday. More fans come in. Big bang is on their way.
If you’re gonna take MKMF seriously, then I have nothing to say to you.

Altho sometimes I wonder if it’s just fan’s incapability of processing other people’s opinions and taking it too seriously. It’s not like we want to be labeled as a ‘die-hard’ cassie or VIP who are ’stupid’ or ‘fanatic’ because there ARE fans who do that and it’s not necessarily ALL of them. I hate it. I’d like to be respected in terms of being a fan of both groups and not spreading the hate with volatile words.
