[New Music Video] Boa will eat you up in full

I don’t know what’s taking Se7en so long…but Boa managed to finally released her music video, “Eat you up”

Although this is the Korean version, it’s not bad. I would have preferred she had a love-interest in the MV and toned the accent down a bit, but what can you expect? No worse than Rain anyone else….

As you can tell, Father SM wanted to show-case off all of the dancing queens moves as much as possible–and I have to admit, she executes them really well.

I even found my self singing the song while walking around my house! Now let’s just hope that American audiences buy into it as well!

Let BoA “Eat You Up”, check out the video:

The U.S. version should be out around October 24, 2008.

lmfao it’s kinda catchy and all but
i don’t like the title ” Eat you up”
0___0, americans will be laughing at this.

i’ve never been much of a BoA fan of her or her music. i did find this song to be catchy. but the MV was way too cheesy. the special effects were really unnecessary and the whole concept was overused. the vocals were just so-so. the english wasn’t bad but the way she over emphasized each word/syllable in the beginning made it sound more choppy and accented. i couldn’t understand some parts of the song, it sounded like she was speaking another language. the dancing was great but that doesn’t save everything else that was bad.

The accent is going to get picked on, no doubt about that… and OH GOSH, the lyrics.

The song’s catchy, but kind of in a bad way that makes my ears ring.

Sigh. Stay in Japan/Korea, BoA! You were doing just fine there without this unnecessary transition that doesn’t look like it’s going to pan out well.

I actually liked her dancing. She has the looks and the dance skills to make it in America. As for the accent….I think Americans have to get used to hearing an Asian accent in music. Once they get use to it, people might buy into it. They have gotten use to Sean Paul and singers from the Carribean…they can get use to Asian accents. BOA seems to have a certain sweetness about her that comes through in interviews and photographs. She’s not coming to America saying “I’m a big star in Asia” they way Rain is doing. America and Asia are two different places. What it takes to succeed in one place may not help you succeed in another. I like the fact she didn’t announce or brag about her trying to enter into the American market. She just did it!

im impressed w/ the MV; it really exceeded my expectations… the MV makes the song sound better. i think i might just buy it

  10. 10 wicked October 20, 2008 at 9:41 am

I doubt that americans will be interested in her music. I can barely understand her. She should just sing in the language she is good at and knows. I live in America and I am not even Korean but I love korean music more and she needs to stick to that especially since Americans will have a hard time understanding her english….:/

  11. 11 will buy this single October 20, 2008 at 9:53 am

Agree with chuchu. I really like this song, I’m going to buy this single from Itunes when it comes out on the 21st.

The lyrics are … but the song itself is catchy. gluck boaa

  13. 13 kay October 20, 2008 at 11:07 am

    it’s good for her first.
    hopefully, it will appeal to
    the american audiences.

    overall, the lyrics and dances
    are pretty good.
    hwating BoA :D

don’t know for America (i’m french) but I think she can sell in Europe, but only with the korean video

  15. 15 jenni October 20, 2008 at 1:17 pm

I THOUGHT THIS WAS ALREADY IN ENGLISH, WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE U.S. VERSION?

  16. 16 .nodame. October 20, 2008 at 2:27 pm

    @jenni

There are two different videos for this song: One made by a Korean director for the Asian audience, and one made by an American director for the U.S.
The U.S. version is very low budget, and BoA’s lip-synching is off in it. At one point when she says “explain”, her tongue waggles for some reason o.O

  17. 17 .nodame. October 20, 2008 at 2:28 pm

    @Chuchu

She may not be saying she’s a big star, but her management is by calling her the “Best of Asia”.

  18. 18 better luck next time October 20, 2008 at 4:51 pm

It’s all right. Pretty good dancing, sharp. But when she actually says anything outside of the chorus it’s like the girl can’t breathe when speaking English!
Must. learn. to. speak. and. breathe. at. the. same. time!

  19. 19 better luck next time October 20, 2008 at 4:54 pm

PS American’s will understand Eat You Up just fine… makes more sense than Hit Me Baby One More Time… (*SLAP!!!*)

  20. 20 eatyouup October 20, 2008 at 9:05 pm

people here keep saying that the choreo and the song are not good enough for the American audience, well maybe you people may be correct on that on some note but do not forget that the dance was choreographed by an African American and an American and the song was produced by people who produce songs for other successful American singers who are supposed to be the “experts” in the American entertainment field… so who are we really to say if this whole BoA thing will be a hit or not?

but I have to agree with all of ya on the accent thing. it really is distinguishable especially her L’s and R’s

  21. 21 .nodame. October 21, 2008 at 11:26 am

The song may have been written by people who wrote for Britney and other artists, but those artists are already popular here, and can get away with sucky songs. This is just a bad song to debut with.

  22. 22 bryan October 21, 2008 at 5:40 pm

OMFG SHES GOING TO EAT ALL U HATERS UP!!! lol thats one siiiiiccckkkk choreo and if u think it sucks i suggest u start doing some dance classes!
the songs got a nice beat, i dont see why ppl not like it and her voice, well she shud try it without the computerized voiced. but nice MV debut overall

  23. 23 nIghThAwk October 22, 2008 at 12:26 pm

    >> well i think the moves were pretty cool..you don’t have to be a professional dancer to say it..especially her back up dancers (2 guys dancing side by side with her since she left “her room”)..
    >> the bit and moves are ofcourse well-made for “a gurl”..

  24. 24 LAWL October 22, 2008 at 2:15 pm

@ Shar:…just go away nobody needs your ignorant posts here kthanks=)
hmm considering the fact that the song was released not so long ago…her song has been rising pretty damn fast..shes in the top 3 for dance category on itunes
    PUHHRETTTY DAMN IMPRESSIVE
    fail? i dont think so.
even if she doesnt impress america for the first time..do you honestly think she’ll give up?
i dont think so. go boa show em what your made of. fck the haters

  25. 25 .nodame. October 22, 2008 at 4:03 pm

Which iTunes? iTunes Europe, iTunes Canada, iTunes Asia, or iTunes US? Because I just looked on iTunes US, and I can’t find it.

  26. 26 .nodame. October 22, 2008 at 4:11 pm

I just read somewhere that she is planning a nation wide US tour…

  27. 27 taeja October 24, 2008 at 6:43 am

This is a hearsay, but I heard that SM is gonna use the Korean version to promote BoA and the song? Is this true? Because if it is, thank the lord. Her career would’ve seriously taken a nose dive if SM used the American version.

  28. 28 p1nkrabb1t October 26, 2008 at 4:02 pm

This MV was choreographed by Misha Gabriel not an African American. (btw he choreographed both Mvs) Kenny Wormald another famous dancer (from dancelife) is also in it…he choreographed Mirotic for DBSK.

now that’s pretty impressive for the asian version unlike the crappy US one. Who the hell is diane martell anyways, her mv looks like its fanmade. no offense

  29. 29 fara November 8, 2008 at 8:39 pm

the accent is okay, as well as the dance moves.

  30. 30 Panda November 24, 2008 at 11:34 pm
