With her repackaged sexy look for foreign audiences, the woman is taking her debut seriously. So, it will be very interesting to see how the U.S. responds to the pint-sized Korean singer.
However, we still think that her look is too cute to be sexy (also the nasally voice does not help) to truly “eat up” the foreign music market.

Why does this always happen? Everytime America is represented, the stars look like trash. I’m an American, and, no, I’m not really defending the indutry we have (because, as much as I hate it, “Sex Sells.”), but why can’t BoA go back to how she used to be? Boa looks DEMURE; sexy and alluring, yet unobtainable. These are qualities that engender jealousy in girls, and caution from men.
Her make-up is subdued, not like the racoon-, warpaint-style of makeup that Aguilera, Britney, Beyonce, and JLo wear.
Unlike the U.S. female artists as mentioned above, Boa doesn’t look like a porn star; wet clothes, sweaty-with-mouth-gaping-look, with crazy-messy bedroom hair.
The disparity between Boa and her US competition goes on and on…
Besides, she’s not 14 years-old anymore. If you want Boa, at age 22, wearing pigtails and lipgloss while singing “chirpy, innocent” songs, YOU NEED A REALITY CHECK!

I can’t help but agree 100% with Popseoul on this one… sorry BoA, you’ve sold out since the day you entered the industry. Honestly, her nasally voice is not going to cut it when we have other singers with rich voices, and well, quite frankly all of America is trying to get their time in the spotlight. What makes her think she’s going to do well?
I mean, come on, there are so many people in the U.S. with amazing voices, but they still don’t make it. American idol anyone? I mean, the US music industry is a tricky one. I honestly don’t think she has what it takes, especially since she’s still got an accent. The only thing keeping her going are the fans she’s already accumulated through the years. I lost interest after her bazillionth face job.
