after all i guess i’m right. see how many haters here compare to lovers.
and why should i support Korean soccer team? My family would think i’m out of my mind, just coz i like few korean entertainers doesnt mean i have to support them all. like it makes sense already. during the match back to world cup, i supported turkey soccer team, they have great goal keeper, and great one player, Ilhan Mansiz, and they won. (and why was this on the topic?)
come back to Boa, well you to say that i’m fair, to judge from what i see from her NOW, lack of that something SPECIAL, i think she should go home somewhere and do her homework before continuing this meaningless attempt to break American mainstream, and suppose to be BY HER SELF, not dictates by her agency or other people who try to be smartass.
in a book there’s saying “do not work on something you don’t have but work on something you already have to the max”
she’s the person who understand her own strength
and weakness, and uniqueness. there’s nothing wrong to go check all of her performances she has done previously and find out in what area she could improve and what area she shall never try ever again. advices of course should be taken since there’re people who really know how to do it, but she can’t solely give all her home work to someone else and just nod.
Big artists (the real big one, e.g Madona) do not only depends of their talents, look, how much money to waste for promotion, etc… all of it comes back to the individual personal strength at the end. it’s called self examination because the obstacles mainly come from yourself not from others.
i dont know if Boa has gone to that level since she’s very young, but i know some entertainers who have such things though they’re very very young.
Miley Cyrus is one, she’s very young, she’s not really good at singing LIVE, but she never try to do it lipsync for whatever reasons, and she’s done her own home work like 90% of it, and she’s really really smart for her age. i’m not her fan, but i admire her as a person. her interviews were always like motivational speeches. that what sets her apart, makes her really special.
last note – the world isn’t BLIND. some of us certainly are, but when the WORLD sees someone who has outstanding character or really amazing at the things she/he does, i can guarantee they’re not going to just close their eyes.
we have thousands profs out there.
that’s why i wrote, it’s not US (me and you) who could help her to pave the way. It’s herself.
only then she could come back and try and see how it works. even if she failed later the day, she could stand very proudly and satisfy coz this is exactly what she wants to do, the image she would like to show the world.
it’s called releasing her dream not someone’s else dream (e.g her weird agency)

About the performance being showed on MTV, and MTV2: That was just speculation by a fan in the Made In Twenty community on LJ. That’s not actually going happen
It will just be shown on the screen in Times Square.

I like BoA, but I don’t like how some of her fans try to get away with speculations. (ie. the MV by the American producer would be hacked, but in reality SM stated that he use both MVs). As for the MTV Iggy thing.. I haven’t heard an actual confirmation about the other MTV channels.. so we’ll see what will happen.
too bad i cant go to new york. if they included airfare i would so be there. i love boa and would like to see her in concert one day.
AntiBoA may not have the cleanest comments (lol) but when you ignore the vulgarities, he/she makes a lot of sense most of the time and the people who continue to reply back to him/her seem more emotional than he/she actually does…
Anyway, as for BoA, I wish her all the best. She doesn’t have the best promotion, but something is better than nothing. Though I do wish LSM didn’t put her on such a high pedestal at first. That really didn’t help. I agree with .nodame. 100 percent.

Seems that I got carried away… ANYWAYS. I don’t hate BoA or anything, but I’m not her greatest fan either. I do realize that there’re a lot of singers in the US who SUCK but they all have something that makes them unique. Plus they have a HUGE advantage: they speak perfect English. Or they have a sexy foreign accent. The Korean accent isn’t exactly the sexiest one out there.
IMO, her voice is painful, strained, and obnoxious. THAT’S JUST MY OPINION, OK? Just because you can carry a tune doesn’t mean you can see. I believe that you’re either born with the talent of singing or you’re not: if you’re born with it, you can improve but you can’t improve if you’re not born with it. But she is NOT ugly, though I don’t appreciate her face: she didn’t get all that plastic surgery to hear people say she’s ugly! (HAHA) I like her dancing though. I admire her courage to debut in the vicious music industry here, but sometimes courage isn’t enough.
