people who bash on his tones are lame. get a life. hes not chinese…what you expect? i thought he did well. AND…speaking chinese isnt a walk in the park…for those of us who know…ahem. ABCs like me.

    two words:
    thick accent
but that’s fine since it’s really hard to sing on Chinese…
well not really..it’s harder to speak the language but I’ll give credit to Rain for singing in chinese..=p

    his mandarine is terrible.

  4. 4 SaL-ee December 16, 2008 at 1:30 pm

    Uh, terrible.
His pronounciation is way off. But good try.
I’d have to say his english version is pretty good.

As someone who speaks Mandarin, I find his diction imperfect for most parts. His Chinese fans may have difficulties making out some parts without lyrics. An A plus for trying though.

I still love, love, love the original Korean version the most.

i guess next is japanese kkk
    good job

  7. 8 asianromance December 16, 2008 at 2:57 pm

pretty off on some parts and very clunky. the accent’s not as great as other kpoppers- i.e. dbsk. however, at least his “wo”/”I” isn’t too bad. many koreans seem to make it sound like “were”. at least he tried and it’s a smart move to get the chinese fans really involved. and it’s also nice of him to think of his chinese fans.

  8. 9 lollipop December 16, 2008 at 4:49 pm

he pronouces >> ‘xing’ as ’shing’.
but oh well, good try! <3

  17. 18 asdasda December 17, 2008 at 1:03 am

actually hearing it again its actually aiight its cuz of the sh sound that is really hard to pronounce in chinese. the rest is actually aiight O.O

@hehe “I think Rain is really smart with his business strategy”

    ———

his business strategy is circling the dRain. if you noticed, he’s been leaning more toward sex and violence in his ‘business ventures’. an indication that he’s pulling away from the teenybopper group and has his eyes set on the 20-30 something market.

good luck. most people at that age have better taste in music than what he’s been putting out.

and, btw, i wonder how that ‘fight’ to give him a waiver from serving in the military is going? if he continues to ipss the govt off …. XD

  19. 20 lev December 17, 2008 at 7:42 am

Dude. He speaks Chinese, Korean, and a bit of Japanese.

    I want that skill. -_-

  20. 21 soju December 17, 2008 at 7:50 am

    you can have that skill

have someone write it all down for you and there you go.

  21. 22 Jenni Kim December 17, 2008 at 5:52 pm

TO tell the truth, all these versions are making this song more likeable to me XD I mean, at first I didn’t like the song, but after hearing it so many times it’s starting to get to me @_@

  22. 23 waruiyume December 17, 2008 at 7:31 pm

As if they needed yet another version of this train wreck of a song.

    It’s just overkill.

  23. 24 sierra December 17, 2008 at 11:27 pm

    Well… I agree it’s overkill. But his Chinese isn’t too bad ^_^

    Korean >> English >> Chinese
    ****

Agreed but its much better than BoA’s mandarin.

  25. 26 OC December 18, 2008 at 7:47 pm

this version isn’t very good. His enunciation is pretty poor so he gets a 5/10 from me. The Korean version is definitely the best, then english, and lastly this chinese version.

  26. 27 MARU December 19, 2008 at 3:53 pm

ive heard and saw the video of the english version of LOVE STORY and its soo GREAT. RAIN is HAWT and really talented. CANT wait to download this song to my ipod.♥

  27. 28 Sally December 21, 2008 at 1:54 am

it sounds good. his pronunciation is good but I’ve noticed that a lot of Korean singers over pronounce the “S” they always pronounce it as a “Sh” sound.

  28. 29 Megan December 22, 2008 at 4:12 pm

    Um.. not the best. Sorry.

Koreans aren’t just the most adaptable people to Mandarin.

  29. 30 Really? o_O December 25, 2008 at 7:37 pm

I seriously think that BoA’s My Name or Girl’s on Top is better than this. Pronunciation is pretty… not good by Rain. I’ll have to go with a thumbs down for this. (and yeah, I speak Chinese, I know this still isn’t good.)

  30. 31 das May 24, 2009 at 3:46 am

The video is not available anymore.
I don’t like this version. I don’t speak mandarin. I’m at the beginning of learning mandarin and listen to mandarin music. In my opinion Rain’s mandarin don’t sounds well. Better like the korean one, more than the english one because his english isn’t as good as well. but I think it’s good enough for a korean guy.
