SM Entertainments wants blogs taken down

Boa_090218

They must be joking.

SM Entertainment wants the blogs that posted up Boa’s leaked track, “I did it for love” taken down. The song was supposed to be released on February 18th on 5 U.S. based sites, including Myspace, and Facebook, but since it’s everywhere, their plans for promotion has been thwarted. If anything, the “early” distribution has promoted BoA’s music.

Listen to the 1:30 preview of BoA’s “I did it for love” here (in Korean)

Heads up, the music video for “I did it for love” will be released in early March.

SM Entertainment is investigating into how the track was leaked.

Geez, SM. Any publicity now is good publicity.
Songs get leaked before their official release date all the time, I’m surprised they didn’t anticipate something like this to happen to begin with.

  5. 7 jaecho February 18, 2009 at 5:54 am

    you meant thwarted?

  6. 8 1349boafan February 18, 2009 at 6:44 am

I wonder why SM wants to take it down. The leak was good publicity for BoA~ it got people excited about her album. Now people are anticipating to hear the full song, I don’t think the leak did any harm.

  7. 9 paulakang February 18, 2009 at 7:04 am

    How pathetic!!

Don’t they know that this is the oldest trick on the booke?

  8. 10 AzureGothBunny February 18, 2009 at 7:14 am

    1349boafan is right…

The leak has probably done more harm than good. I mean, it was the song leak that’s gotten me excited for her debut…

  9. 11 AzureGothBunny February 18, 2009 at 7:17 am

^I mean more good than harm. Typo. sorry

  10. 12 evelynlee14 February 18, 2009 at 9:20 am

At first glance, I thought BoA was Ahyoomee.

  11. 13 Trish_Fan February 18, 2009 at 9:21 am

It’s a good publicity but at the same time, it allow fans to download it. I mean when I searched for Eat You Up, I found a bunch of blogs that let us fans to download it.

  12. 14 bryanside February 18, 2009 at 9:31 am

maybe SM is juz paranoid since they are in the US market and to show they had nothing to do with the leak as a stunt for publicity?

  13. 15 moarstrawberry February 18, 2009 at 11:45 am

Sounds like a nice little publicity stunt, and I bet they’ll still release it.

Really, though, MySpace would gobble this song down whole…I bet it can work.

  14. 16 kagero26 February 18, 2009 at 11:50 am

Father LSM and SM really need to stfu, she’s a newbie artists and this girl is going to need to all the publicity that she can get, sorry most people here aren’t going to give a crap if she is hella famous in Asia so they need to shut up and get over it!

this is another reason why I’m not supporting her I freaking hate LSM for reals! He pays people to party and promote her but gets mad when her track leaks and he wants to raise hell over it, he needs to shut up!

  15. 17 sexybabymama February 18, 2009 at 11:56 am

oh she got her eyes redone~ her nose also looks different.

  16. 18 iv3kr February 18, 2009 at 12:05 pm

Awww, i feel bad for BoA..
but how did it leak out?
    that is skills xD

  17. 19 cecelias February 18, 2009 at 12:24 pm

LOL she sounded like a ROBOT and Sean Garret sung
like half the song w/o digitalizing his voice…can you really call that singing or her song??? :P

  18. 20 taki2 February 18, 2009 at 12:24 pm

ahhh COME ON everyone !! the all AMERICAN DEBUT its just a trick to make her comeback stronger in ASIA, it became quite obvious after they annouced the release of her US album(SM entertaiment) with her Japanese BEST of(AVEX TRAX).

I think her korean team just team up with her japaanese staff and created a buzz around that american debut

  19. 21 sahye February 18, 2009 at 1:19 pm

    wow..
    that’s dumb?

  20. 22 lovefasian February 18, 2009 at 3:45 pm

    its not that good anyways…;;;

  21. 23 ladyyuina February 18, 2009 at 4:17 pm

This song sounds a little deadpan…I mean BoA’s voice sounded monotonous most of the clip (at least to me). It isn’t all that good, but neither can I say it’s really bad.

  22. 24 .nodame. February 18, 2009 at 8:39 pm

Maybe Sean Garret leaked it. He has the right, as he wrote the lyrics, composed the music, and produced it.

  23. 25 syedmuzammil February 19, 2009 at 12:47 am

very cute, have a glance shortly

  24. 26 brocknroll February 19, 2009 at 1:21 am

It’s understandable why SM Entertainment wants the blogs taken down because of a leaked song, copyright music must be respected and understood. Remember Kevin Cogill who got arrested for leaking 9 Guns N’ Roses songs to his blog? Leaking copyright music is illegal. Try to understand that please.

  25. 27 yunjaeism February 19, 2009 at 1:57 am

    ^
    agreed.

but i don’t know how SM can stop this now that its leaked everywhere D:
Love Boa’s pic up there btw :)

  26. 28 pandresite February 19, 2009 at 3:56 am

they should anticipaded this “leak” for happening or have a plan anticipaded as well, now you know this things.

  27. 29 xxfourthelement February 19, 2009 at 4:01 am

Ah… leaks happen, and it’s not exactly like they can control it. They should learn to do it the American way: sue the jerks and be done with it.

  28. 30 Rua MacTírean February 19, 2009 at 4:14 am

No guessing what the bloggers defense will be “I did it for…”

  29. 31 taejus February 19, 2009 at 4:43 am

i know rite, it promoted their song so much, so i dont see why their so ” NYAH NYAH NHYA” about…

  30. 32 koreanajusshi February 19, 2009 at 5:01 am

SM should take SNSD down, instead.

  31. 33 candygirl90 February 19, 2009 at 5:13 am

booo like i said the song sucks either way.

  32. 34 christopher79 February 19, 2009 at 9:21 am

the girl must want known a what a way to do other than selling you ass at least she doing it in a positive way!

  33. 35 christopher79 February 19, 2009 at 9:22 am

by the way least her family can be proud!

  34. 36 Bob D. Caterino February 19, 2009 at 11:01 am

Not the best way to promote. By the way, my book, the White House Mafia, was only supossed to be at Target but now it is everywhere and that is a shame because I only wanted it to sell at target.

most songs get leaks out anyway so why make a big fuss?
i don’t get lsm at all, instead of suing blogs why don’t he use that money to promote the grace? or jang ri in?
    lsm must be on crack
    seriously.

  40. 44 skimfan February 20, 2009 at 7:59 am

SM should thank their lucky stars that anyone is interested enough in boring Boa to actually “leak” any of her bland songs! These blogs are the only ones out here who’s giving any kind of attention to her anyway, major music sites, mags, tv, radio sure aren’t.

  41. 45 rarefish February 21, 2009 at 2:33 pm

    Ehhh…
Wow their marketing is truly clueless. More attention, the better the response after the debut. And if the song is good the more people will want to but it …external influences

  42. 46 bangbangtang February 26, 2009 at 4:15 am

Surprisingly,I think this is prettiest pic of Boa, xdd…..

Her face look shorter than other pics

  43. 48 sarahkpop March 5, 2009 at 6:51 am

Lol smtown trying to take down all blogs?? that’s funny cause it’s almost impossible. even hollywood stars today don’t make a big fuss and demand blogs taken down. Leesooman should be flattered but then again, yeah when people post up stuff like that, their company does lose money.
