well, their not just popular in the STATES. But here in the Philippines too. I was w/ my cousin yesterday, we were riding the bus to the mall when suddenly from the radio, it was WG’s NOBODY ENGLISH VERSION playing. I was like, OH MY FREAKIN FREAKAROO! Is this really happening? A few months back and I only had Nobody in my iPOD && my phone. But now, the SONG’s all over the place. My brother even told me that the girls from his school were dancing to that song. Even my gay friends have the NOBODY MV on their iPOD’s. IT’S A PHENOMENON! GO WONDER GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They’re not popular here in the states. They’re not even a blip on the US music scene radar! Lol! Get some decent single sales under your belt, some time with real music mags, regular airtime on main radio stations and then we can talk about a little interest brewing for them. When my co-workers where all buying tickets for the JB concert, it was announced that the WG were only performing at selected NA cities, so I didn’t buy tickets. Now, they are also coming to Toronto. It’s like ‘I don’t want to buy a ticket now and sit solo…’ Ah! life sure has a sense of humour…

I’m just looking through some of these comments and I swear some of you WGs fans are those ridiculous ones on twitter attacking those poor Jonas brothers fans who openly admit they don’t like the wgs! If somebody doesn’t care for them, then let them! Believe me, you guys already have a bad reputation among the jonas people who are on twitter. Some people don’t even include them in their concert reviews because of that and some just say when the wgs are on and move on to Jordin. In order to “make it” in the US music industry, one has to have actual interest from the general music public that develops into sales; there has to be buzz going around the music scene and sorry, but there’s no WGs “buzz”. There’s no one, whether it be professional music reviewers or regular people coming out of these concerts spreading the word about how amazing the wgs are. That’s how many artists “make it”, by word of mouth from general music fans, not by wgs fans desperately begging the masses to “please give them a chance”, as if that’s going to make people like them.
More gossip = more popularity = win (or fail).
Lets wait a couple more months (or years) before we begin to rightfully judge the Wondergirls’ success here in the States. They’ve only just started their debut, so lets give them some time, shall we?

How did they become famous so quickly in Korea if they only had sub-par singing skills? Surely the music industry now focuses on other qualities in artists (charisma, appeal) besides singing ability. Maybe Asian artists were never meant to be a part of American music.

Yes, Boa can be included in that description, but I think Boa definitely has a better voice than the wgs. As for artists in Korea, I really have no idea how the wgs became so famous, I’m in the states. But from what I’ve seen, it just takes a pretty face, that includes the guys, to succeed in the korean music industry; it doesn’t seem to take much.

Name some of these people and I’ll believe you (Lil’ Kim doesn’t count). I consider myself in the know as far as music is concerned and I don’t remember big names endorsing and complimenting Se7en, besides the ones who were getting paid to write and produce his songs. I’ve also seen the feedback from all the song “leaks” and the club performances and they haven’t been all that great. If they were, maybe he’d have an album out already.
